Crochet method

Dreading Methods

oow sad to hear this....dreads should be easy and stress free, as SE says stop doing anything, give 'em some rest, dont wash 'em too much-swim in the ocean or river(oh wait, what time of year is it with you?) wear a hat and give 'em time...

Wrapping/binding dreads

General Questions

am not sure if ive kinda replied this same thing on anotha wrapping dreads, thread? can get confusing...but coupla years ago i sort of wrapped some of my dreads closer to my scalp with some nice natural wool, to try to get the rebellious loose hair into the dreads,as i was swimming nearly everyday, but as my hair grew and the threads got locked in, it made funny squiggly shapes in my dreads, and made them bunch up a little,i think from the threads getting loose....so i guess if you wrap and you dont want that you should keep an eye on whats happening on yer bonce!! i left mine as whats done is done....8~)

where to start....

Introduce Yourself

so mebe start here would be a good idea....have no idea why my 3 eyed old woman picture automatically came up? ......my dreads? cant say that i do much, other than the occasional splitting when they join, dont really want to have one big lump and fiddling and twisting when doin nowt....wash em mostly in the ocean river or rain, get em full of sand most of the time, which is a bugger to get out! I love my dreads 8~) as you probly all do, and feel that they are such a part of who is me and what is in my heart and soul.......and am i the first kiwi on here?? are there any others?? must have a look....

wraps?

Dread Maintenance

I dont think it would hinder the locking? but why not try it!thanx for posting that diagram! never did figure out how to do the wrapping-but it looks fairly simple-i threaded some rainbow hand dyed sheep wool into my dreads a coupla years back as my dreads were shrinking and going very squiggly from swimming everyday but they ended getting dreaded in in a very bunched up way and loosing colour....oh well is all part of it(the wool has memories so it stays!)

What is a Hippie?

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

I was just wondering if the need to 'label' stems from way back when we first learnt speech and forming words, for primitive wo/man to describe different tribes? just a thought....
