My dreads are too small

Dread Maintenance

She has at least 100 dreadlocks and she started her set with twist and rip also.

As everyone has stated count how many you have and they will get thicker. Having dreadlocks means you have to be patient with yourself.

My dreadlocks where started with twist and rip and I have at least 100 dreadlocks also.

Maybe certain hair types won't dread naturally? or will take a ridiculously long time?

Dread Maintenance

My hair type is naturally really fine also. Adding a little bit of salt to the baking soda mixture I use to wash my hair with helped me out a lot. Then again being outside on windy days helped out also.Another thing, how often are you washing your hair?

A few more questions about baby dreads

Introduce Yourself

1. I started mine with dry hair.2. See SoaringEagle's post3. Depends on your hair type and how long it is now. The first few months your hair will seem like it isn't growing at all. When your dreadlocks begin to form loops and kinks, your dreadlocks will start to shrink and continue to shrink for several months. I am nearly a year into allowing my hair to form into dreadlocks and I am still able to put my hair into a pony tail using a rubber band or another one of my dreadlocks. Then again Imy dreadlocks are fairly thin and they are still shrinking.

Sectioning hair differently before BC

Dreading Methods

My sections are shaped irregularly like SoaringEagle's.Your dreadlocks will congo by themselves if you simply don't pull them away from each other.

Whats a fella supposed to do

Dread Maintenance

Yes, you can over condition dreadlocks to the point where it actually impedes the development of dreadlocks. If your hair doesn't need to be moisturized everyday, cut back to when ever it is actually needed.

Begining in a few days. Have some questions.

Introduce Yourself

Within the first few weeks:1. As other have stated keep your hair clean regularly2. (Optional)Pull your dreadlocks away from each other.3. Since your are starting with Twist and Rip don't allow yourself to get concerned over any unraveling whether it is completely or partially.

Introduce Yourself

It is easy. If you are the kind of individual who likes to change your hair. Dreadlocks constantly change.
