dreadlocks lice treatment and prevention - all natural

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Here is list of oils for LICE: Eucalyptus Radiata, Lavender, Peppermint, Thyme, Geranium. A blend to use is: 4 dropsof Eucalyptus Radiata, 2 drops Lavender, 2 drops Geranium. Dilute 50-50. Apply 1 teaspoon to scalp. Massage entire scalp. Cover with disposable cap. Leave for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse well. A good rinse is: 2 drops of Eucalpytus Radiata, 2 drops lavender, 2 drops Geranium, 1/2 oz Vinegar, 8 oz water. Mix and shake. Pour over hair throughly. Repeat daily until lice and eggs are gone. Dry naturally. Recommended to do over a sink as the lice and eggs could cling to other body hair. I recommend the therapeutic grade oils from Mountain Rose Herbs. It may be an expense at first but they will last a long long time. The oils will be good for many things. If you use Young Living Oils, they are good as well.

essential oils for dreads and scalp health

For sinuses I would use Eucalyptus (there are 3 different ones) and some really good mixes. I kept this information for hair and dreadlocks. There are some oils that are NOT recommended if you are pregnant. There are sites on the internet that list oils to be avoided. I would hope that most pregnant women check everything out. Some of those sites are very cautious with the oils. Many of us have used most of the oils anyway. During the first trimester is the time to be careful with many things and of course some of the oils.

Take care.

I do not buy the ones in the store because they are not therapeutic or food grade. they contain solvents and chemicals and are not pure. That is why I recommend, Young Living Oils and Mountain Rose Herbs. I still investigate to find new places that offer therapeutic grade oils. All the oils I get are pure and most of them may be ingested. There are a few that are NOT to be taken internally; Wintergreen and Jasmine. I take a good amount of the oils internally. They are their own kind of medicine and I really love oils.

It's not enough oil to make your hair look oily. I use coconut oil, hemp and Argan oil if my hair feels dry. and sometimes Cocoa Butter. I have had a bottle of Sandalwood for a very long time. If you get pure therapeutic grade oils you will not need to use more than 1 or 2 drops.

I've never used it on my hair. I'll have to read up on it. I have heard of it being used for menstrual probs in younger women.

Look at the information above for specifics. personally, if I leave the bs on too long it bothers my scalp a bit. A good rinse for me is 3 drops lemon, 3 drops Lavender mixed with water-this is my final rinse. I do not use acv as it relaxes and conditions my dreads too much. (mine are only 9 months and considered babies). If you have Patchouly, try a drop of this. Be warned about Patchouly-it smells until you wash your hair again! :) Only use therpeutic grade essential oils as I suggested above.

From my reading; Lavender is considered safe during Pregnancy. But always of course, use anything with caution during pregnancy and certainly the first trimester. Chamomille and Cedarwood should be used with caution. Always use PURE THERAPEUTIC Grade OILS. This grade contains no chemicals and solvents.
