Hey I'm finally getting back into the dready mindset I was in before Christmas and I'm wanting to dread but at school they are fine with dreads. But not with dreading hair they accept it if it's instant but will tell you to 'sort out your hair' if it looks like it's starting to dread. The official policy is no outrageous hairstyles but because a lot of teachers high up in the school don't like dreads they try to make kids have hair like they want. What would you say is the quickest method to dread and how can you speed up the dreading process. My hair tangles like there's no tomorrow anyway but is quite oily and even without messing with my hair it tangles but no sections form. All advice is appreciatedPeace

Guys unless I'm sorely mistaken Newton Faulkner hasn't been mentioned. His locks are legendary in my opinion but that may just be because I live in a 'ginger bashing' community. Search his name beautiful head of hair he's got going

Don't worry you guys I will never...EVER go waxy. The most I will do is a little twisting and ripping to help form initial sections. And I have sort of got my mum onside just my dad left but I have decided to go for it anyway

I really want to get dreads now and have so for a long time but my mum and dad aren't too happy about it. Unfortunately my dad is rather narrow minded and isn't open to new things. Any tips on how I can explain/persuade my parents to let me get dreads??

go out in the woods with no mirror or watch.. sleep under the starts wander aimlessly forget all about the world and time
if u stay long enoigh to see a season or 2 pass then ya probly were there long enough to dread

Hi, I'm really wanting to get dreads, I'm not sure whether I should use the natural method or a quicker method like backcombimg or twist and rip. The only reason I'm skeptical about going natural is because a friend tried to do it naturally and first it took him years and second it smelled so bad and always looked so dirty. Can you still wash hair while dreads are forming??
