i have been locking close to a year, im lucky tho cause my hair started locking within the first month, now it is almost completly locked up, i also started from really short hair, like an inch or so GreyGargoyle said:

i would say wait 1 year without doing anything else too your hair exept washing it, and your problem will be solved, if your looking to get dreads for next week i dont know what to tell ya

yes I have a blog that has my journey from 4 months to current about 1yr http://hummingbirdlovegorilla.wordpress.com/ only thing is my hair is a different texture than yours so you might not be able to use it as a reference, you might want to check out YouTube.com/iheartchrist might get a better idea of what to expect with your hair type
