The hat is an elastic band... It should stretch over them and hold on nicely. if not there are always bobby pins to help hold it just anticipate the tossing of your cap or you"ll be ripping it off you head

Vegetarian, to be or not to be?

Dreads and Diets

Humans and animals are different. The reason is: we have a much better thinking brains than them. The proof is: look around what we have got. we invented a lot of things we take for granted.Just, we are a common beings as living things living together with animals on this earth...but..we who had the desire to think, naturally we lead the world, we think on what we want to do on this earth, how we do on this beautiful earth..great power comes great responsibilites...yes, we're the ones who created pollution/poisons bla2....but to stop those... uve got to live 100% like an animal...stop wearing clothes (almost 100% modern fabric are made in factories that do produce some pollutions)..yeah and stop use this forum and internet... if we use it means wer'e supporting the power plants that might might endanger bits the environment... the computers are made from factories too that use a lot of these power plants...there are price that we need to pay for doing all those...and we as humans would have to think back to manage all what we did to the earth... be as kind to the other living things as possible...naturally, i think humans instinctly eat meats... i never heard of any early civilization who practise purely vegan which shows how since the beginning we could eat meat... the thoughts of going vegan is after we have the brains to think of some reasons: religion,ethics,health,etc.. (see we have brains to make complex choices)there r lot of other stuffs that i wish to point out on this debate... but i dont think its good for the benefit of this forum since majority of the ppl here go vegan...and its original purpose is to be a dreadlock forum.. :)so this is my last post on this thread...but i'd love to hear and learn more on how the vegan lifestyle is going by reading thru this thread..peace! soaringeagle said:
shouldnt we desire a HIGHER purpose then? less cruel less egotisticle less destructive?
many humans, or the human race in general have strived for a purpose of destruction..polution chemiacal poisions in everything we eat drink and breathe, the environmenmts becomming toxic.. and our egos say this is our purpose to domminate nature not live naturaly. shouldnt our purpose be kindness to all living creatures? and the earth itself? Daniel Ordonez said:
its not that humans are great, more that cows lives dont matter as much. Hell the only reason human lives do is because we got smart enough to desire a purpose

whats so great about humans? we are probly the 1 species most desserving of slaughter

i eat alot of everything. dont really try at all to eat healthy and have no moral problems with eating meat, genetically modified food, artificial foods or anything that tastes good really.

Im probably going to get crucified for saying that but eh.

I mean i have no problems with vegetarians/vegans i just dont feel that animals lives are equal to humans

just before the future readers of this thread have bad thoughts/feelings on the methods muslims slaughtered the animals, i just would like to point out on this video on its argument by mr phillips... it is discussed on the first 8 minutes..
have an open mind... its not a religious talk... kind of a neutral one...the reason everyone has an argument because i believe God had made us to argue to make us more intellect and understand each other living in a community while teaching on how to make it peacefully since we have thinking brains far superior than other living thingspeace!

there are animals that we can eat without tools and eaten raw... for example fishes and the japanese eat them raw as sushi...and yes there are vegetables and fruits that we need tools to open 'em and to be cooked... for example, rice, u need to open the seeds then cook em, its not meant to be eaten like peanuts...for the slaughtering parts, i cant really explain as im not well learned in those areas... as i told before, u could ask muslim butchers and farmers...anyway, it is still true scientifically, maintaining a vegan diet do have benefits...peace...ur arguments are good and i respect them soaringeagle said:
no we dont

try bitting into a living animal..you cant

our teeth and more importantly our intestines are designed for fruites veggies and roots

how exactly do you kill kindly?
most muslims are vegatarians

most religions say do not kill but they ignore thsat

how do you slaughter without causing pain?

humans are meant to be vegatarian..that is a fact
if you dont think so..eat a livi9ng animal..no cooking no knife and fork..bite into it with teeth and rip it apart with claws.. all omnivores can kill with a bite
you cant without a gun or knife
youyr desigfned to pick fruite
not bite the head off a dog

im sorry that this might contradict to others but this is an opinion...

if u believe in hair and dreadlocks are natural stuffs... then eating meat would be natural to go away with... we have tooth that are suited for omnivores... i dont think God create those teeth for fun, does he?

yes, animals are friends but its part of the nature cycle... if we say meat cant be eaten so do other animals and ull disturb the mother earth diet and population cycle...

to me, there's only one difference between us and the animals... we have brains... yes, those KFCs and other shits had made bad jobs treating the animals but there are ways also for treating them good...
im not here to promote my religion, Islam... but my faith has a way to slaughter animals... in fact u'll be sinned just for not slaughtering the animal( eg:- cow) in the most possible way minimizing the pain for one animal... i dont know the way but u can asked the muslim butchers... (sorry bad english grammar.. it aint my mother tounge)

so i guess eating meat is natural but dont treat 'em bad... and slaughter it with the love of god...
i mean no offense to vegans and animal lovers...

just to make a bit correction of ur view on muslims... most muslims claim themselves as vegetarian when they cant find so-called "well-slaughtered" meat and to make sure no alcohol is added just to show politeness to others when they are offered meat...so mostly when they are in a land of non-majority muslims, they opt for the vegan diet as a safe move so do me when im travelling...peace!

Oh yeah TVPs are nice(i guess that can be referred to fake soy meats too or if im mistaken,sorry)... one way u could find is to go to indian vegetarian shops... here in my multiracial country, where some hindus and buddhist who practise vegetarians they cook those synthetic meat... they look real and taste real like those meats...but if ure really a true animal lover who dont like animal killings, i dont think its a good idea to eat those... coz ull be eating a fake meat with a real meat taste, that makes u thinking eating meat is delicious.... :D nyum2 Jo McClelland said:
To be honest I have never heard of Creatiolutionism, but it makes a lot of sense. I should have done this when i was pregnant, then I couldnt even smell meat cooking without feeling nauseous. I think tomorrow is a new day, and its going to be meat free. I dont think I can go to vegan all in one step, but I'm gonna take the first step with being a vegetarian.
The reason I asked about the mockery and such, is because I'm pretty sure my dad thinks someone will die if they dont eat meat. His response to veg is "well what do you eat then?" in that kinda tone like what the heck is left. But he's pretty close minded. His theory is If you arent eating haggis and wearing a kilt then you are wrong. (as you can guess he was born in raised in scotland) Back when I was in college, everyone pretty much was a veg. (well that's what happens when you are taking environmental technology) but anyways, I've tried a couple of veg meals and loved em. So hopefully this wont be that hard. I think it will be just an adjustment. Has anyone seen these videos on peta? Holy damn. I think that was enough to make me not want to eat meat. has anyone ever had TVP (texturized vegetable protein, well I think that's what it stands for) a friend of mine once made veg tacos with that and I remember it being amazing. and organic yogurt for sourcream. It was a pretty good meal. Anyways, I just wasnt sure on how to prepare it?

rinsing locks everyday?

General Questions

sorry this is my first post in this forum... so me gonna say "hiyya dreaders!"for the question of washing the locks...to tell the truth i wash and shampooed 'em every single day... sometimes twice a day (yes twice a day!) since im living in a asian country (malaysia) down near the equator where it is wet and hot all year long...the shampoo that i use is some sort of cheap green tea shampoo sold here....and after bath, i would dry it with a blower...the only thing that i realize is, the locks wont look the same... so i got almost different shape after every bath...i dunno if its a good idea... but here in my country, where im quite hairy too... to not bath in a day will make u smell like shitters especially im a person whose kinda easy to sweat...oh yea... my dread is kinda young still... a month over... method: not combing anything, just but pinching the thin dreads to combine some of 'em(i like 'em phat)...
