You got the same hair as me; I decided to go the natural method and just let my hair do what it really wanted. It takes a little longer for our type of hair to dread unfortunately. However I did try backcombing once and I gotta say the results were pretty effin' cool but I think the curliness made them loose alot quicker than I expected.

My hair tends to get oiley after 3-4 days and once it gets oiley enough thats when i'll wash it, and yeah im usually wearing my tam around other than when im home, or in school where I CANT wear it

Well I have Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle shampoo which I used for awhile but for X-mas I got two bars of 100% pure hemp soap which I've been washing my hair with since.. I try and wash my hair every 3-4 days.

I'm really thinking of washing & conditioning my hair again till' its maybe around 7-8 inches and then just stop washing it again, it's kinda annoying having people ridicule me for having a big messy bush on my head asking me where the dreads are. -.-

Sorry for the ultra low quality images I'm using a 2 decade old webcam :/ well,you can see my hair in those pictures and was wondering why my hair hasnt been dreading like ive expected they should go..ive been leaving my hair alone since september and was hoping you experienced dreadheads could let me know if my hair is looking right for the progress im atmy hair is only 5-6 inches long right now, but i have really thick curls which could probably be affecting the dreading process too..any info is much appreciated
