Dreads in the Family

if the whole world was open minded and full of LOVE and TRUTH, then those of us who ARE like that wouldn't be so special. you're gorgeous on the inside and the outside; don't let anybody make you feel like you aren't, or that you have some standard to live up to. my dreads are all about rebelling against the standards that mainstream media places on women. it's all so silly and trivial! none of that lasts; superficial beauty is so fleeting. you've got a good head on your shoulders. if they had any idea, they'd be so jealous.

MY NAME IS KNOTLOCKS

Introduce Yourself

i'd like to know more about the spirituality behind your dreads. i feel like you're restricting nature by doing so much maintenance, and you're unable to enjoy the full spiritual journey since you're not letting nature be your guide.

you probably didn't know that this site is mostly devoted to completely natural dreads, and you probably didn't know that you'd upset so many people with the pride you have in your methods. this is a deeply spiritual place. the discussions that take place here go so much deeper than the roots on our heads; they dip into our souls and into the life force all around us.

for us, dreads are much more than what they look like physically, and i think that's why you got such a negative reaction. i feel pretty confident in saying that most of us probably couldn't care less about loose hairs or loops or things like that. those are all unique, quirky attributes that nature has given us and our dreads. we celebrate the differences! i think if you did like SE said and left your hair alone for 6 months you'd really enjoy seeing what nature does to it.

Thank you for the support.

I decided to get dreads for spiritual reason, as much of you did also I assume. So I do forgive any negative feedback I have received.

hey come on we look like kids. I. Why do we insult over and over knotlocks?

Because he has different dreadlock kind than ours? maybe thats because when we wanted dreads, he hear or waxed and croched locks and heard that neglectwasnt a good solution (as me)

or maybe you insult him because you think he is arrogant, say that we want to learn but doesnt listen. Try to understand... 3 years of his life he did it this way. You want him that he recognizes that all of this was an error. it's probably for him a little bit like saying all 3 years passed was stupid. Thats not easy. He will certainly needs a little time to really understand it and admitthers better way

its hard for me to convince you because my primaly language is not english but frensh. what i want to to understand is that you want knottlocks to understand, dodnt be arrogant with him. Only be kind, try to by with him.

I think were a good community. We should always promotte peace and accept everyone in our community. If persons are arrogant and just say stupid argument, the best way to convince him is to answer to him with calm. insults never bring other thing sthan negative

thank you

SE, i want to thank you AGAIN from the bottom of my heart and straight from my soul. i am so, so, SO very grateful to have found this place before i ripped my head to shreds with backcombing and stuck it together with wax. so very grateful. it is quite an amazing thing you have done here. you are a hero of truth, love, and light =)

we dont care what you do to your hair its what yiou do to others that matters you have a responsibility to tell them how harmful these methods are and to explain the dangewrs like losing dreads

its in your best interest too salons get sued all the time over dye jobs gone bad etc if you go on knowingly doing harm without even letting the clients know the harm that can be done your opening yourself up to all sorts of risks

if you at least warn them the dangers and explsain why its not recomended then they cant come back and hold u responsible

but u sound arogant and like your just begging for trouble

you say your here to learn yet the more u learn the more u insist on not learning a thing

try not doing it for 6 months and see for yourself

Anyone Had A Bad Experience With Their Dreads When Getting A Job?

Dreading Methods

if you want it, you can find it. might have to put yourself out there more, apply to a few more places, and be extra attentive, respectful, and up-beat in the interviews. but i'm a firm believer that if you send the message out into the universe that you need a job, the universe will answer!

General Questions

the little loosies will probably get sucked into bigger ones =) i was afraid of the same thing so i put a bead on a couple to encourage the sucking-in process. it helped them form together and it eased my mind too.

love!
