I'm Dusty, I'm in Tennessee

Introduce Yourself

(moses was aries btw) we'll just have to wait and see... i'm kind of excited. i know this older man who was a weatherman in the 60s and he says he's never seen anything socially happening like it is now since the late 60s. quite an exciting time to live!

Introduce Yourself

i think another dimension/other dimensions are going to open. time as we know it might be completely different if that happens. or it may just be a new age with a new symbol (moses, jesus) and hopefully a new dominant religion! who knows.

in any case, welcome dusty!

Top Secret

Dreading Methods

i had lots of questions when i first started too. the folks on this site are really quite patient, especially SE, and they don't mind giving you a quick answer even to a question that's been asked plenty of times before. happy journey, sister!

Shhhh so secretive! :) I hate being one to ask questions that I know are probably posted on here...just with my phone I can't navigate the forums very well. All the info given is very much appreciated!

I think my family is racist and they don't know it:

Dreads in the Family

not sure whether i think those comments are racist are not. probably just a product of white american conditioning. people only do (think, learn, say) what they want to.

mold

Help! Save My Dreads

my back ones are super tight and hard too, i doubt it's mold. did you use wax at all? & how old are your dreads? plus if it was starting to mildew you could definitely be able to smell it.

Why it is absolutely idiotic to trim your hair while locking up the first year...

Dreading Methods

i kind of enjoy the asymmetry that my hair has. since i do have a favored side to sleep on, that side is much shorter and knottier than the other. i think it adds character =)

I also learned that you really need to consciously alternate which 'favorite side' you sleep on. One side of my head is looking lovely(the side I prefer to sleep on) and the other is loose wreck. This is an adventure. One day at a time.

*sllluuuuuuuurrrp!* Yep. My brains are going.. going.......gone.

Dreading Methods

a lot of mine blunted on their own and i was worried it was my fault by not paying them enough attention. luckily though, the top side of my head is staying nice and wispy.

thosewispy ends on natural locks let water run through them as they dry. When you blunt your ends, water just balls up at the tip and stays there like a sponge. You have to twist and squeeze your lock to get the water out. It's a pain in the butt. They eventually dry, but they can take hours longer, and might run the rsk of growing mold because the buildup of water.

If they want to blunt on their own, don't stop them. I have a bunch that did it themselves, but it's nbot a good thing to make happen
