Greetings & Blessings

Introduce Yourself

Hi y'all,I am a mom living in Tampa, but soon, that will be irrelevant. My family and I are about to embark on a new chapter--walking away from suburbia and moving into our camper full-time--and as I prepare for it, I too have been thinking it would be a great time to start my dread journey as well. I have always kept my hair super-short, so I'm waiting for my hair to grow, grow, grow, already! :)In the meantime, my daughter Marley decided she wanted dreads...and she doesn't want to wait for my hair to grow. So we started her dreads a few days ago. They're looking pretty wild right now, and she already loves them. At the beach yesterday, a fellow dread told her, "Nice dreads," and for her it was a truly magical experience. : )

Much Peace & Love,Susanne

Shalom, Sister. I feel ya. I too am overly compassionate and will fight for chocolate. : ) I'm also a mom, of a newly dreaded 5-year-old, and am in the process of freeing myself as well.Blessings.

Children with Dreadlocks??

Dreads in the Family

Homeschooling, roadschooling, unschooling, call it what you will, but that's what we're planning on doing with our daughter while we're living on the road. It definitely seems like the best choice for us.We are going to an unschooling conference in September in Texas called Rethinking Education . You all might want to check it out if you can.

Children with Dreadlocks??

Dreads in the Family

I was directed to this forum & topic by Kath (thank you) because I posted a similar question on tribe. My 5-year-old daughter wants dreadlocks too. : ) I think it's great, but I was wondering if anyone in the dread community knew of a reason/s why I should not let her. (I'm hoping not, since I think they'll be so cute on her.)Your girls are precious.
