Dread Maintenance

I've gone into the ocean many times, sometimes forgetting to take out the small metal beads I have, tho usually when I wash afterwords they didn't rust,

A Dreadlock Graduates...

Life Issues Facing Dreads

kinda funny you started this thread, I was looking back at my old cap, and tried it on,,, mine wouldn't fit at all without falling straight off at the slightest move, but imo If I had dreads that stuck out well enough I probly wouldn't even have worn it,haha, I like Anubis's idea tho

Palm Rolling

Dread Maintenance

So while i was writing something up be4 including my own opinion on this, I decided I wasn't to sure about how I felt on this, sure I did some of this with m dreads, but not really much,it didn't seem like an effective way to do much besides temporarily compress a bump or some frizzes, however I'd like to know what you think about it

starting off my dreads....

Dreading Methods

yeah it seems you have perfect hair for locking, crochet method has the potential to really hurt your dreads right off the bat, especially if done in the long term with a lot of maintenance, backcombing can to, however your really only gonna be doing it once, so that was what I went with, however they too can look kinda odd in the beginning phases of dreading, so you might have to keep that too in mind for work.another method you could look into is Twist and Ripi'm not as familiar with the other methods but if you need more info there a thread detailing most of the ways to get dreadlocks on this site

Loose Roots

Dread Maintenance

i did a little bit of that with a particular dread that was givin me problems and the crochet didn't do anything for a root (it mostly seems to be effective towards tips and bodies) however it won't really help with causing new growth to dread *your more likely to just undo any currently dreaded growth*rubber bands didn't help either, after over 2months it was more or less just slightly dreaded, recently nowabout 3weeks after takin the bands off im seein it dread up on its own finally, how much length is in your loose roots at most? * i see your hairs kinda shorter to begin with, but I think in all honesty your dreads are looking good I think in some time you'll see more of that hair begin to dread, even my problem one had about 2+ inches of normal hair be4 it began to finally dread, anyway another suggestion for maybe future reference is you could try taking a small bead and placing it at the root, that could help as well,

dreads in a relationship..

Life Issues Facing Dreads

if they can accept it over time, then its a good thing, if not, and they absolutely hate them, In all honesty I'd break up with that person. I told my current girlfriend that before I started dreading, she was all for it, then months later she asked me, what If I said "NO, you can't do that!" I told her I'd immediately break up with her and move on,from my point of view it just saves me the time and foreshadows the nature of that person. be they a open mind or even respectful individual matters more to me than looks or action,
