Makes me pissed, people i thought were my friends...

General Talk

Yeah man. People say stupid shit to me all the time. Everyone assumes dreads are dirty and nasty. Just yesterday, this kid was like, 'her hair is dirty, like she has dreads or something' right in front of me. I never say anything, because I know my hair isn't dirty. Plus I get really tired of explaining to people how it's clean and it works cause it takes like 20 minutes and then they are like, 'uhhh, well taht's still gross.'

*rookie dread-boy* got some questions

Dread Maintenance

Damn dawg, no wash at all. If you don't like the wax applied you need to be taking the hottest showers possible so that it'll melt out. It may look like it's becoming undreaded but relax it takes time to get dreads. Just wash your hair with some baking soda (You can find that recipe somewhere on this forum) every 3-5 days and rinse well. Maybe even do a couple of different washes cause the wax collects dirt and shit like no other. BUt mos def you should wash your hair like, now. Haha, peace.

Stayin dry.

Dread Maintenance

So, does anybody have ways to dry your locks fast?I mean, wrapping your locks in a towel gets cold, especially at night. We can't always go out in the sun to dry them.Happy dreading, peace.

Is it still there?

Dread Maintenance

Umm, I didn't read everyones post because it looked like it got out of hand.. But to try and help this fellow dreadhead, just use hot water when you shower and try and squeeze the wax out and eventually it'll come out. Dreads take time and so does removing wax, ahha. Good luck holmes.

Round & round.

Dread Maintenance

i was gonna recomend this to jess but i'll recomend it to you since ya probly are more experimental anyway

take 2 dreads underneath kinda putta site and mark em 1 with a few wraps of red string 1 with green
only roll the 1 week after week after week.. and see if u even notice a diference
alotta ppl say that palm rolling is totaly useless and does nothing good (same with root rubbing) and only do dammage
im not sure thats true really without experimentation
but id think it would be interesting to take 2 side by side of nearly same thickness and subject 1 to alotta rolling and 1 to none and document thee differences over say 3 months
(weekly updates)

would u wanna try?
