i disagree completely with mike

i went through hell when young with my parents forcing me to dress the way they wanted me to dreass and do things the way they wanted me to do them

i was bullied every day because of the way i was forced to dress

i was tolds " you can have your own identity when your not living under our roof"

i say fuck what your parents want if u need dreads to be happy then dread

teen years are hard enough to survive withoit being able to feel like you

now im not saying to say f u mom im doing it anyway (unless it came to that)

but search the site for

letter to parents

or

convincing parents

edit 1 of my letters

they have so far convinced 100% orf the parents

you do not need to accept their ignoranvce yu can change their attituedes with facts

Help! Save My Dreads

well i dont consider cannabis use as 'drug use'...but your parents are just functioning on old fashioned notions and its EXTREMELY hard if not impossible to convince people like that to see your point of view. im speaking from personal experience. if you feel you do not want to brush your hair, then dont. are they really gonna be like "you cant go to england with that hair"! they might see even more dreads over there and realize they are being irrational and rude. its your hair. if its not negatively affecting your performance in school or whaatever, then they really should lay off. and i would stick with natural. i think those would make you the most happy because you would get to see the birth of them, not force it. just be polite and likeable and perhaps they will change their mind.

Greasy hair after baking soda wash.

Introduce Yourself

sometimes too much baking soda can make your hair over produce oil. too much acv can do it too. and adding too much oil. lets hear the mix so we can help out.

Any polyamorous dreadies?

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

i did say that he mentioned it to me and i wasnt saying that we were in a polygamist relationship. i said he wanted one and then i guess was going to talk me into it eventually. he was being dishonest. i dont feel you read my response well. i wasnt saying that 'cheating' and choosing that lifestyle was the same thing.

and really? i dont think there is a difference between "ooh im all emotionally involved with two girls so that makes it ok" and " im screwing two girls". the only difference in a polygamist relationsips is everyone is aware of it.

Mike Gentry said:

Umm yeah that isn't polygamy. That is just cheating. Polygamy is a relationship, marriage, where each person consents. Each woman has the right to bear children, and there is no infidelity. It is not an excuse to have sex with different girls. If he was truly polygamist then you would have met her, and you guys would have talked about terms of the relationship, who was going to conceive first etc. That is like saying a man cheating on his wife is practicing polygamy, doesn't work that way

lol i had a boyfriend that wanted me to be his 'party girl' while some other bitch would be the mother of his children. no way, fucker. when i first started talking to him as a friend, he asked me if i was cool with polygamy and i said 'HELL NO"<direct quote. and then we started dating and he made it seem as if he only wanted me...turns out he was trying to knock his ex up...while we were dating. the relationship endedwhen he brought up someone else having his babys and that i should be cool with that. and then found out he was cheating on me.so i booted his polygamist ass.

A strange worry

General Talk

i like some loose hair too. makes it look nice and natural. i was kinda worrying about losing some of that loose hair and then deduced that with hair constantly growing it would be hard not to have any of it. i hope most of my ends stay wispy

Heather said:

i'm at 2 1/2 years now and most of the craziness has stopped. i do find myself missing the beginning stages. as for the new growth, I've noticed that a lot of it is remaining loose which i kind of like. I'm sure the longer it gets the more likely it is to dread up but for now I'm embracing the wisps of softness :)

A strange worry

General Talk

im about 9 months in. i did tnr but most of it fell out. and i have discovered sections of new hair that are straight for now, but from what i observe so far, it does knot up and loop up. you just get new hair in between the sections and adds volume and new dreads! very cool
