Neglect

Dreading Methods

@Mons: that is the coolest thing ive read this month! Lol!!!@Ixchel: no i havnt, but when i first accidentally did my dreads a few years back i would put on a beanie and that pretty much locked all my hair at the same time so im thinking about doing that, but that was when my hair was short, my hair is about 6-7 inches right now

Neglect

Dreading Methods

So ive been neglecting my hair for about 3-4 months and have formed a good amount of dreads on the back of my head. I have yet to see the top/front of my hair lock up even a little bit so im wondering if i should start twisting them? I havnt twisted them and not sure how it'll look compared to my neglected dreads, any suggestions?

Guess it depends on your hairstyle but ive been using the liquid shampoo from dreadlockshampoo and not brushing and i have a good amount of dreads formed in a span of 3 months. You must be patient with dreads and just let them happen :)

Hey community

Introduce Yourself

Hello all, looking forward to getting my dreads going again. Been reading a few blogs and comments here and there and its pleasant to know what a great community this website has. A little about myself: i first had dreads in highschool back in 04 from neglect but had to cut them off because a hat wouldnt fit on my head (i played baseball). I would always grow my hair out every year with hopes of getting dreads naturally again. Well that wasnt working so I would cut my hair every year till about 08 when i made the worst decision in my life... I went with wax. Seemed like a giod but was very dissapointed with how ugly they looked and felt. Never going that route again. So a couple more years of cutting and growing ( my hair grows fast, about an inch a month) and now i find this great website with great info and great people and im very excited to get my dreads going again. I have very curly/nappy hair and have been thinking about doing the backcombing process to get goin but if anybody has any input for my hair type i would like to read your responses
