Mine go back about three inches . I do them like this because I have very thick full hair and I cannot wear hats if my whole head it done . I also like to cut and style or color the front so I eave it straight to be able to play with that is enough hair to wear my part goes from ear to ear over my head

I have some knotty boy locking gel that I dilute into a spray and spray on ym dreads . I also make a good few items including some tams,arm warmers, headbands ,tie dyes hemp necklaces , wire wrapped stones .dream catchers

General Questions
I just started my son's dreads like a week or so ago . He is three . I have never cut his hair and it is past his shoulders . He has never cared for his hair to be brushed anyway . Yeah his hair has been going crazy I let it naturally section some then tnr the sections a little bit . I decided to do it because he has very curly hair and I have to brush dreads out of it every day . He definitely knows I am doing his hair like mine because the other day when I was pulling some of them appart he grabbed one of his own dreads and said ,"hair like mommy" with a big smile on his face. Do I think he understands them no , but do kids understand why you cut and brush their hair or style it the way you want ? I don't think so .I do think waiting forher to ask again may be a good idea . all in all you are the parent . I believe it is the way hair should naturally be because what came first the hair or the comb ? I would make sure she knows the easiest way to go back to normal hair if she doesn't want them is the cut her hair off though so it will be pretty short

I think if she wants them and you don't have a problem showing her how to keep them clean it shouldn't be a problem . Some people are big saying young people don't understand enough but I just started letting my son's hair do its own thing and he is three. I would also seeif you could modify the letter to the employ they have made here .

Yeah I suggest letting them do their thing as much time you can or possibly getting a plain black tam for at work and stuff them in a tam kinda loose . which you will have to separate more often ,but it will only help
