Thin root, thicker dread. should I worry?

Help! Save My Dreads

Most likely you have shed hairs and they've tangled up and scrunched up and is now shorter as a result, am I right? Well, up at the roots its not as(or at all) tangled so it appears thinner. It you palm roll or twist a lot or you wear up tight that could be a problem too. Most likely though, because you use this site and everyone seems anti palm rolling, its the first one. I hope I helped :)

Tell me about your Dread Decorations?

Introduce Yourself

So Ive read these comments and I fell like I learned really good reasons to decorate. I put wraps in to keep wild dreads from getting to big but at this point i fell like my hair is changing to much to really add permanent things (like Zombiekitten said...) when they get older I might add things that I find or are given to me. I like that every knot was a moment of my life and trinkets that reflected that would make me happy. I suppose Im just not the kinda person how goes out and buys a dread bead cause its pretty Im more sentimental. No one has ever given me something for my dreads. :/ but If they did Id probably wear it forever :)

Tell me about your Dread Decorations?

Introduce Yourself

I've put beads, yarn, and lost things in my hair but they never stay long. I think they look so cool on other people. I think they look fine on me. I just dont see meaning in anything Ive found. Do you have things in your dreads? If so post a picture and tell me why you have them, how long have you had them.

How to start with VERY long Hair

Dreading Methods

My hair was super long when i started neglect dreads just 3 months ago. Just know it will shrink a lot! You can look at my pictures and see if that helps.

Frustration!

Help! Save My Dreads

It looks to me like your hair is shorter in the back. Just give it a few months to grow and dont touch it. You might just like how the knots will form over time. If you dont like how it goes you can just brush it out when it gets a long enough to hold the knots that you plan to form.

opinions por favor :)

General Questions

I love the way bangs look with dreads. It makes it more wearable. But I personally dont have bangs. If you like to use the loose hair in styles and do fun stuff with it then dont dread it. But it will look great either way.

Dreads falls apart when shower.. but I have to shower!

Dread Maintenance

I'm a noob too but I had an idea! Use a shower cap and don't wash your hair everyday. If your hair doesn't smell too fresh try your favorite oil (lavender, peppermint, lemon...) and some water in a spray bottle to feel a little fresher between washing. I've heard that the knots loosen and tighten a lot but if they are all falling out maybe you could try rubber bands but I hear that's not so great for your hair. You might also want to try beads and wraps to just kinda keep things together. Idk, I hope I helped.
