Time Lapse Natural Dread Movie!
General Talk
Dayum, those are some sweet ass dreads!
Oh excellent! Does she have straight or curly hair? Cause mine is curly and it'd be interesting to see the differences between the two
Hey guys! I'm pretty new to this site and I've only been letting my hair dread up for just over a week, so there's no awe-inspiring progress as of yet but I just wanna let you all know about the project I'm doing.
So, before deciding against the back combing and twist and rip methods, I was trying to find a video that showed a time lapse over the course of a year showing how natural dreads form (similar to the 'take a picture of yourself every day for a year' type thing) but to no avail,
SOOOO...
I'ma make one myself! I've been taking a picture of myself every day (some not particularly flattering) and at every month i'll do a full 360 rotation around my head or something. And in a year or so, I should have a mighty fine time lapse! :D
I've recently started the natural dreading process (just over a week ago) and I understand a lot about it, but one thing that's got me concerned is how often to wash my hair. The recommendation seems to be 2-3 times a week, but my problem is that I do a lot of sport and biking and stuff, so it's necessary to wash my hair at least every two days.
Will this be a problem? I use Dr Bronner's liquid shampoo, diluted at about 16-1.
Oh and I have thick, curly caucasian hair, if you were wondering.
Cheers.
I think the only people who say anything as ridiculous as "white people shouldn't have dreads" are, as with most hate, completelynaiveon the subject. Chances are they know very little about dreadlocks and probably think they're started by rubbing unicorn crap mixed with pixie's piss into the hair...
If they are educated on the subject matter then it's just their opinion, and if they're saying stuff that stupid, they're not worth knowing. So either way, ignore them entirely ;D
