Dandruff or something else??

Help! Save My Dreads

I use a little less than a cup of BS in a gallon, sometimes I'll do an ACV rince I haven't in a while. I don't know what kind of water I have. And it's like a tacky/gooey feeling or like a grainy mud type feeling.

Dandruff or something else??

Help! Save My Dreads

This is a weird question but lately when I've been washing my hair (i do BS wash) I will scratch my head and there will be like a white substance but I'm not sure if its the baking soda or like wet dandruff. Is it normal?

Stuck hair tie in dread

Help! Save My Dreads

So this hair tie has been in there for a while. I was using the hair to put these two dreads together and I left that it for too long and it's pretty stuck and this is what it has looked like for quite awhile. Should I just cut off the piece that's showing or try to take all of it out? How?

Dry hair

Dread Maintenance

Yeah I'm over a year now. Are there instructions on how to do it? or should I put jojoba oil in the next time I b/s wash?

Dry hair

Dread Maintenance

I get comments that my hair is dry.

Should I condition?

Or ignore it?

Spiritual enlightenment, and dreading.

Introduce Yourself

Everyone has different gains from their journey, but i think a really common one is humbleness. You will be judged, people will make comments, this is something you learn to accept and through this you become more humble. Even if you're the type of person who get attention a lot I think dreading will change the way you feel about the attention you get. From media and the people around you, you were taught that combed, shiny hair is beautiful. Honestly dreading involves some weird things. Having to explain the things I use to wash my hair is weird to people. The way it sets us apart is what makes us more accepting to other people who are set apart. You go through different dread phases that people won't understand. You stop using as much chemicals on your body since you stop using those types of shampoos, I think this does something to your body that makes you feel more part of nature, it's grounding because you flowing with nature rather than against it by using all of these products. In a spiritual sense I've always felt like dreads were an extension of myself in a way that they are keeping in the essence of my conscious within the locks. It sounds weird but they really feel like they're more apart of me than i thought, like I think about my dreads the same way I think about my limbs. You feel and see the progress like you would a child so it's almost maybe more than a limb. When I think about a certain dread I can just touch my head and find it.

i combed out a dread

Help! Save My Dreads

I have patience to let it do what ever and knot however it pleases, but i have no patience for combing them out haha. I'll comb the roots out and see how it goes...but ill probably do that tomorrow after last night I never wanted to touch a comb again haha

i combed out a dread

Help! Save My Dreads

I combed it out because it was looking really funky and matted down at the root. As I was coming it out the dread separated into three sections. So there are basically three dreads that would form if I just let them be because the roots are dreaded. So I was considering either letting them be and having three new preset dreads or combing out the roots and seeing what would happen

i combed out a dread

Help! Save My Dreads

So I combed out one of my dreads because it was really fat and flat, a little bit over an inch thick. So it took me three painful hours. I broke it up into three smaller sections. The roots are still dreaded. This is more of an opinion thing but should I leave it to dread into those three sections or should I comb them out to start it over completely?
