Sungazing

Dreads and Diets

also so very cool to find someone else who is interested in this sort of thing as it is not really a topic that comes up in your average day to day talk. if you are starting to practice this i would luv to hear about your experiences as well. i will say if you start to or have sungazed and really feel it the way i do. you will never want to stop doing this.it is simply amazing.

Sungazing

Dreads and Diets

my mother told me about breatharians and sungazing about a year ago. i can tell you a few things i havelearned about it. i have an open mind like you and i am vegitarian (dont know if i would personally go farther than that - i like food too much lol) anyway when she told me about it i looked it up and found out a few things. first of all you dont need to climb a mountian to watch the sun rise or set. if it is ever up where you are durring the day just watch it go up or down where it does from your point of view, if that makes sence. in the year that iv known about it i have watched about5 or 6sunrises and probly 60 or so sunsets. i LOVE this i dont do it ritually every day as others do but i can tell you that there is a definate energy like nothing else absorbed from the sun by simply watching it.it feels very empowering and i could see how if one was to train the body you could live on this energy alone it is litterally brilliant. one thing that i would suggest is if you are going to try it, stand barefoot on bareground if you can it will really help you to feel more closely connected to the earth and the sun while you do this and you will get alot more out of it this way. i dont know alot about it but my experience has been amazing. and it is so simple if you wanna try it and you just happen to glance out your window as the sun is beginning to set go outside and watch it its awesome!!

so thankful

General Talk

Kathryn, thank you so much for sharing your story. i just found this site today and i needed to read what you had to say. i feel some days like giving up, i feel sometimes like everyone is looking at me funny and some mornings i wake up and wonder why did i ever do this in the first place? however i have felt a real spiritual connection somehow through my dreads since i started them and i have also like you been grateful that i can now distinguish the difference between my true friends and those who simply cant get past my hair. i am only two months along on my journey and i see why you all refer to it as such. it is an amazing experience and is changing me very deeply within myself already. as i am in such an early stage i was concidering taking them out it because of some negative comments i have gotten and even looks from people i dont even know.kind of goes against what i feel inside i should do, but i realize after reading your story that i absolutely cannot let others define who i am, and i need to listen to my inner voice.thank you so much for your story i am going to keep them and continue my dread journey. ps your dreads are beautiful.

Will the frizz go away?

General Questions

aloe vera, try to get pure gel or get a plant and squeeze the juice out once in a while, it is safe to put on your hair its water soluble and washes out easily but it is also mostly absorbed by your hair so it wont leave much residue behind and it works just like any other hair gel with a mild hold to tame down the frizzies. its also a natural conditioner, iv been told you shouldnt condition your hair at first but it never seemed to do me any harm and if you dont want frizz aloe will help tame that said frizz with out doing any damage to your locks. it dosent have a strong hold so your loose hair can still move around and find its place. some have even said it helps heir to dread i dont know if it does but iv only had my locks for just over 2 months and they are almost all feeling "locked up" iv been usina aloe from the start at first i put it on after i would wash and now i add it to my shampoo, Kris is right they will look better after you wash em but sometimes washing can create frizz too, wich is a good thing cauz those hairs will move around and find their place. hope that helps.:)
