LUSH solid shampoo and my progress :)

Dread Maintenance

I've just tried my first bs/acv rinse but I used malt vinegar as an alternative.Surprisinglysoft in the shower but as someone who currently has mixed dreads and loose hair it made my loose hair very, very hard to brush, I see why it's so good for the locking process!! Also really interesting, which lush bar do you use?

I use lush seanik and i have had really good results with it. there is a video of a women who uses lush products. she split one of her dreads and there was no residue or anything in any of the hair. people all have a preference for what they wash with. i love my lush shampoo and i can't handle the bs/acv rinse. to each there own.

LUSH solid shampoo and my progress :)

Dread Maintenance

Thanks Heather! That's interesting. What are the healthier options that you use?

sodium lauryl sulfate won't leave residue since its a stripping agent. it will dry out your hair though. i've used some of their bars but i alternate with healthier options to avoid the drying effects.

Wondering if anyone has used this? Or what they think of the ingredients?
My dreads are now tight enough they don't catch my earrings in my sleep and having them down in bed has helped them mature and their roots tighten up so much! desperate to use a healthier shampoo, or acv and bs rinses. I've used L'Oreal a lot and don't want build up!!

I want dreads but I dont

General Talk

I completely get you. SE and I have spoken about employment. For me, I want to be a midwife and I'm starting work in a hospital. I'm probably going to get shit about the "hygiene" issues. I'll fight for my piercings for a start (they're all in my ears apart from my tongue, nose, septum and belly, of which only my nose will be seen, and Hindu's are allowed them where I'm going to work so fingers crossed) I wear small, pretty jewellery anyway! The rules say "hair must be brushed and clean", myargumentis, for theforeseeablefuture I want loose bangs, so yes, they'll be brushed ;) I reckon you should do a dread or two to start with :) You can see photos of mine on my profile. I'll add to them but getting a few done at first has made me learn and be ready for the others :)

Introduce Yourself

They're beautiful. I'm thinking of doing some t'n'r myself, as a gauge, how long did your "wiggles" take to settle down?

These are beautiful!! So are you :)
I loved reading this, I wanted "perfect" dreads at first too, now I love the crazy stuff each of them does! Only have three so I admire you going for it all at once :)

I thought I was reading the photos in the wrong order or I was doing my usual "is the label for the picture above or below it??". I love how they changed their mind on how they wanted to develop. They look amazing now, and you have your length back! What patience :)
