Help! Save My Dreads

i think di knotty boy was workin best when i was in Ethiopia. i think the water here is hard ...i haven't noticed thatt but as my friend Jule said its definitely hard so i should start boiling it .
and wid my BS/ACV mix i think i was desperate and i was adding more of the baking soda n let it stay for like 20 min . now my dreads r out of control ... but now i will try to use less BS n start to boil the water and see wts happening : Thank u soo much its a very helpful information ...have a blessed day

hi mahi s ... if knottyboy shampoo worked how did u have build up in the first place..?

what is the ratio of ur bs mix and ur acv mix? what kinda water do u have? how long do u let the bs stay in and the acv too..? if u have hard water then bs/acv wont work well for u... baking soda i doubt will get ur hair brown.. it may rather make them gray. i had this problem when i initially had trouble adjusting my bs and acv ratios. my bs mix used to be way too stronger as compared to acv. gradually after playing around with the acv ratio i finally seem to have got the right amount that suits my scalp n hair.

our hair n scalp are different from others and u'll probly have to keep shifting ur ratios until u find out whats best for u. bs/acv is much about trial n error in the initial periods.. u said ur hair feels very dry... that indicates to me that ur bs is stronger than the acv. bs makes ur hair n scalp very dry and ur dreads may feel hard, stiff n hair feels just too brittle basically.. in that case u need to increase ur acv amount.. acv makes ur hair much softer n gets the ph level back to normal.. on the other hand if ur hair feels too oily then that indicates ur acv mix is more stronger than bs.. search for the shops here u may like to buy some of the shampoos or bars . those may help. good luck for ur progress. keep us updated.

I just got back from a 2 week stay in the Gersfeld/Fulda area (north east of Frankfurt) and I now have a lot of buildup in my hair from the water in that region. Definitely experiment with different techniques to remove it. Yes, the baking soda can lighten hair in some cases. If you DO decide to continue with the BS mix, you could try boiling the water first, then let it sit for a little while so some of the minerals may settle in the bottom of the pot... Pour the water into another container slowly, but do not use what's in the bottom. Mix the baking soda/natron in while the good water is still plenty hot. Best of luck!

Hello, Im from Germany (Karlsruhe) welcome here :-)

I can`t help you with the BC/ACV , because I just started my journey to get natural dreads but perhaps its about the water here in Germany. Sometimes there is al to of ?lime? or chalky in the water. Hope you understand what i mean....this white stuff, that`s here in the water - you see it in your water heater.

I use the hairtonic from weleda. Its absolut natural and you can get them in every DM market (you know them?) Its called "belebendes Haartonikum" and there is rosemary in.

This is not special for dandruff but its good for the scalp. And they have a dandruff shampoo too. Absolut natural and without smoother and silicons. Called Weizen-Schuppen-Schampoo and there is wheat in. The wheat you take for backing some bread ;-).

Perhaps you have actually too much stress? This can also be an reason for your dandruff problem.

Hope you understand my bad english.

Keep one - you and your hair look beautiful and breathe one deep breath <3

Hope it`s getting better soon.

Best wishes

Jule
