cant be it i loteraly ground 1/2 a bar into the full length of mine in an attempt to create residue and it rinced out extremely easy
in fact baba said he had residue ..when he was too timid and tried to avoid getting any o=in his dreads and only using a tiny bit on his scalp
but ..then he tried using more rubbing the bar all over gettinfg a good suds going and it worked great
it sounds like your being too careful too an d instead should just rub on alot more and get em good and clean

Naw, its not the hair follicles, I see those in my hair too hahaha. But I really think this is some shampoo that I just applied very excessively to the actual dread itself

Could be several things. Is it flaky ? powdery? sticky? Or is it little white dots attached to the ends of the hair strands? If it is the later ...it is your hair bulb. The Hair follicle is a little bulb that is under the skin. It anchors the hair to the skin. The hair follicle is where your hair actually grows from. The white bulb is where the hair was attached to the follicle. The white is where the hair stops producing melanin right before it naturally falls out.
Because we have dreads...our hair is caught into the knots. When we shed hair...it stays in the knots. Most of the shed hair still has the bulb attacked. So especially in dark hair ....the bulb looks like little white dots on and in the dread.
My dreads are covered in these. I have tried everything to get rid of them. But have accepted the fact that they are just part of my dreads.

Hello everyone, recently I ran into the problem of having some white sort of crap stuck in my dreads and its really starting to bum me out. It doesn't smell or anything, but it makes 'em look somewhat gross. Its not throughout the entire dread, kind of near the root. Would Appreciate any help.
To be honest man, I started with back combing, didn't do the hooking though, and I love mine! At first I was bummed because I was worried they would be stiff or not look like real hair or something. The nice thing about dreads though is they seem to undo themselves from the back combing anyway! So I think you will be fine. I mean some of my back combed dreads came undone comepletly and have already reformed anew! Goodluck with the journey friend
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone uses a white vinegar wash/rinse without using the baking soda wash before hand? Just did this today and i love how fresh it made my hair smell! Thanks in advance.
No problem dude, I just followed the one from this post

Great news, glad it's helping. Ratio plays an important part when using baking soda.
So recently i've been using the bs/acv wash and have been actually doing the correct ratio. I used to get some pretty bad dandruff but each wash it seems to be getter better and better, just wanted people to know incase they had the same problem.
