I'm 3 weeks into dreads, not looking togreatand they keep falling out. my wife back combs them once a week since they fall out. This week we used "locking gel" to help keep them from falling out and the mrs. thinks that i should sleep with a beanie hat on. what do think???
oh and i wash the dreads once a week with super diluted dawn and rinse with water in the shower twice a week since i work in a very dirty place.
I dreaded my curly hair with beeswax and locking gel. I got my curls, put some wax on them, rolled them then teased the strand, then put the locking gel. I did that times 1,000. Then I learn here that wax and gel is a suckers game! now what?!!?
is it ok to use hairt ies to tie them back? like the fabric or silicone goodies?
This is gonna tick y'all off but...... can I use dawn dish soap?believeit or not I don't have baking soda!! and last time I washed I used head and shoulders and had to start all over from scratch, so I am kinda overdue for a washing, I'm looking for something that i have that won'tconditionor leave residues.
I went with wax and 'locking gel' with my dreads but luckily I talked to screamin eagle that night andwashedthe gunk out. So i am one week into natural dreads. my hair was already curly so I just rolled the natural sections and I'm waiting it out. I've successfully rolled though the first week of "I thought you were getting dreads...?' and ' they're really loose, you should put something in it, or do something for those loose hairs." I want to get a tam for work since its a dirty place, so it'll keep the babies cleaner and help them dread all the while keeping me safe from themachines. This site rocks!
