Just one dread

Introduce Yourself

You can take biotin at a daily dose of 5000-6000mcg. It speeds up hair growth and promotes healthy nails. Take this for 3 months and you will notice the difference

Loving the advice. I just wish I could make my hair grow super fast though. I miss my long hair.

Just one dread

Good tip for putting on beads: Put two ends of dental floss through the hole of bead, making a loop, put the hair in the loop and pull through bead. Voila'

I just lick the end of my hair and slide the bead up the dread to a snug but not overly tight spot. Move beads around weekly.

Piercings and tattoos

General Talk

Thanks Ruby. I am an artisan who works from home, so I've never had a problem because my boss, me. loves them. To any who find it difficult to find a job due to tats, just cover them with makeup for the interview. If hired, ask you boss if they mind the tattoos, if they do, just cover them with the makeup when at work. Eventually they will know you are a great employee and human being, and may let you expose them, depending where they are...HA HA

moroccan argan oil?

Dread Products

Hi, added comment on your page, but I think I deleted it. So I'll try again. I have never used that oil, but would not recommend using any directly on the scalp. Being only 1 month in, it would slip out any knots trying to form. I notice you are using the baking soda ACV wash, good for you. Are your measurements correct: 1/2 cup baking soda to 5 cups water: this must be rinsed out extremely well (after leaving on for 20 minutes) before you use the ACV: 1 capful to 5 cups water (leave on for 1 minute), rinse well also

For a couple of washes to help get rid of the dandruff make the baking soda bit stronger add rosemary oil maybe peppermint too. Rosemary oil is great for helping solve dandruff issues and keeping it away.

Another good tip is to rinse the scalp with as cold water as you can take at the very end of your shower, this also helps to keep dandruff away. Good luck, and hey, what does the Morocccan Argan oil smell like?

My dread story so far.

Introduce Yourself

Welcome Lindi,, they look great, that's why you get the compliments in your hometown. Glad you have been reading up on the site. I hope you never crochet or palm roll again. In the long run it affects the strength of the dread, with crocheting it breaks the hairs inside the dread, eventually causing them to break off in your hand. But you have stopped which is fantastic.

Dandruff going away slowly!

Great news, glad it's helping. Ratio plays an important part when using baking soda.

Lint Attack

Introduce Yourself

Hi Sarah, lint forms very easily. We can get it from yarn tams and scarves, those little balls just attach and stick in there. You can even get if off a favorite knitted sweater if you where it often. Another way lint gets in 'em is from our towels. I've purchased a couple of large towels the same colour as my hair, that way when the lint balls are left behind, they are not as noticeable.
