I don't really know enough about psoriasis, so I don't know what advice to give you one that. As for braids. it's notnecessaryforCaucasianhair. Our hair locks up just like everyone else's. But braids do work. My girlfriend did that for one of her sets, and it turned out just fine.
thanks for the reassurance. i think maybe if i was further along in my journey then maybe the good energy could have outweighed or at least balanced the bad.... but for it to be so early i didnt want it to start with such negativity.... trying to separate myself from sources of consistant negativity in my life right now and over the last few months.... however this recent event was especially negative and from a source that i hoped would only bring love and encouragement. i find myself at not just one crossroad but several right now. and although i have been successful in removing negative people from my life recently (although it was painful) this particular one seems a little more complicated. not exactly someone that would be easy to cut out of my life.... and not sure that i want to. been doing much meditating on that. soooo i thought perhaps a fresh start to my dread journey might be a good way to deal with it for now..... and of course the psoriasis too. i will definitely try your suggestions this time! how did you do the baking soda and vin? i think i may have been using too much baking soda.... i used the bs first as a wash and then dilluted the vin as a rinse but i rinsed with water in between

well in that case yes a new starts in order
some native american tribes like the seneca when morning or trying to seperate from traumatic events do cut the hair and burn and bury it as a new start cerimiony
(nit suggesting shaving your head haha just saying combing em out can be a new beginning and separation from that negativity)
and starting over natural will be good and rewarding and hopefuly sheild u from further negativity
i guess u r right i should have consulted first. im sad because they were coming along so well. however, there is a lil more to the story that i didnt say at first.... i believe that hair (and i would imagine this would be even more so for dreads) holds on to energy both good and bad..... and i dont want to go into detail but i had a pretty traumatic night the night before... lots of bad energy.

braids to dreads is slower then nothing to dreads
justthrow away the comb
get the bar abnd the liquid from that site wash withthe bar awhile see if
1 they start dreading
2 the psoriasis gets better
if 1 keep using
if 2 grwat keep using
if not 1 try the liquid
if not 2 try afdding the oils i mentioned to an after rinse
its ok that your starting over youll be happy with natural dreads anyways
but u didnt have to start over jyst cause of that
So I have some sad news everyone.... I have psoriasis and although i tried researching beforehand, i had to brush out my hair 2 days ago (day 13 of no brushing). my psoriasis just was too bad. i had been using baking soda wash and vin rinse as well as tea tree oil. my plan is to nurse my hair and scalp back to health and start over. yesterday my friend who has dreadlocks suggested i try braiding my hair and then letting it dread naturally... does anyone else have opinions on that? as you can tell from my pix i am caucasian but my hair is pretty wavy/curly. however, my friend with dreads is african... he didnt have to do much to his to have nice looking dreads just twist it a little at first into sections.... but he said he heard that braids were the best way to do it for my kind of hair
