7 Months In

Member Journals and Timelines

I just wanted to share a bit of my journey with you guys. I started my journey in January 2022 doing freeform method. My wife was not a fan of the look and I also agreed with her assessment. My wife helped me restart in July 2022 with comb coils. I'm 7 months in and couldn't be happier with the progress.

its ok, i was diluting it in water and using it.

cold water washes,

how did you start your journey? and hows it going?

Sorry Mick I just got notified you responded. I started with coils. It's been about 7 months and so far it's going pretty well. Hair has gotten unruly at times but so far it's been a pleasurable journey

I'm honestly just glad the site is still here. It took me a while to find it again. I'm restarting my loc journey and loved the community the last time I went down this road. Anything I can do to help boost the site I will.

Am in going bald?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I may be incorrect but it looks just like a section to me. Is that the only place it's separating like that?

Not sure if brush rub is working

Dreading Methods

Thanks for the reply and that is what it's doing it is just the tips that are knotting up. I'll leave then alone and see where it goes. I'll add some pictures soon too. Thanks again.

Not sure if brush rub is working

Dreading Methods

So I'm very new to the dreads scene and finally decided to take that plunge. I'm african american and my hair is about an inch and a half but my hair is also fairly fine for being black. So I figured that I'd take a shot at the brush rub method since it seemed fairly easy. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or wrong or if my hair just just doesn't behave. When I do it my hair looks a lot like I've twisted it but only kinda knots up at the tips. Is that normal our should I try a different method? Also, I hear neglect is pretty much the easiest way to go and I would love to try it but I can't do it since my job has strict codes on appearance so I have to go with a method that looks presentable. Thanks in advance.
