something loose so your dreadies can move about. tam, dread sock/tube, headband/bandana or nekkid
some people have wispy ends sometimes they blunt into the dread, most people get a mix of it. give it some time & being that curly i'd think they'd blunt themselves up, but the only way to know is to wait & see! personally i love those little curly ends you have going on
use the bandana or tie your dreads up in a style, assure anyone who pressures you that your dreads are clean, you can use aloe (very little for young dreads it's conditioning) or dreadlockshampoo.com locking gel for stray hair taming if you want.

Nah. wasnt planning on it. more like thought a joke might have some truth. also i have work and cant wear a wool tam i can wear a bandana but i dont tie it. i cant look like my hair is a slob but i dont want to mess up anything. any ideas?
interesting way to look at it lol. i was several months in with only 1 baby knot to show for it & i had a few people telling me to backcomb, but i preferred to let them do their own thing & see where i ended up. I'm so glad i never broke down & "did" anything to them, they are really amazing doing what they want & i love each unique one, even the ones that are still just straight sections...they'll get their in their own time & do wonderful things <3 it does make me love every single loop & bump i get all the more! very much worth the wait

yea, same with me, my friends always tell me to get it done professionally too but I never listened to them...
You can't enjoy the every single step that your hair goes through.. I always give them one example, it's quite funny but works..hahaa
I tell them that getting professionally done dreadlocks is similar to marrying a girl you're not in love with, yes, you can show other people that she is your wife, you can always get a company but you're not really happy with her.. Dreads are not about showing off..
I know that's a bit stupid but it convinces them... :D:D

really SE? i thought near the roots it looked like something was going on, but i don't know for sure
maybe i'm just looking at how they are pulled back?

thosee clearly look natural unmaintained ((except seperating)
seperate when wet lil olive oil on the connected hairs might help break em loose
even if you do what he does for maintenance yours will never turn out "like" anyones but your own. your hair will be different, grow differently, you probably wash slightly different, sleep different. & any maintenance besides washing & separating will be damaging your dreads & won't be worth it in the long run.
try to separate when wet & separate as much as you need to to prevent the congos. the ones that you are trying to reverse maybe try a little aloe or extra acv on to condition & loosen them a little to try & pull apart. try to wiggle a finger in between & wedge them apart bit by bit. or at the last straw try & cut a few connecting hairs at a time & pull them apart (only cut as much as you absolutely would have to, try to pull more than cut).
It totally helped for a lot! my first birth the shower was amazing, i didn't want to get out but my doula asked the nurse if i could birth in there & policy said no I labored in there most the time tho, & when i wasn't in there i was having counterpressure applied & rocking on the birth ball. 2nd time the pool (& environment) were so relaxing i didn't know that i should sent my husband to work...when i was at an 8 & had baby shortly. 3rd time i was falling asleep in the tub between contractions & the midwife barely made it in to loop the cord over his head lol. Water also helps prevent tearing & makes position changes easier (with my first i tore front & back, 2nd no tears bigger baby & came out much faster & changing movement helped me deal & her get into correct position to come out, 3rd had the biggest head but only had a skid). & i've heard the water is also an easier transition for baby to come earthside.
Even tho my labors were mostly back labor (first birth only felt contractions in my back, 2nd back & legs, 3rd i finally felt some of it in my front side in addition to the back & legs) the water did help, not as much as i had expected/hoped, but without it i'm pretty sure I would have been over my head at times & not been handling it as well. My water/home births seemed much more easier, calm, relaxed & enjoyable than my birthing center land birth. I could ride my waves instead of get pounded down by them.

Ixchel thats awesome! i cant wait and im sure it will be an amazing experience. did you find the water to help with pain and relaxation? it seems logical to think it would.
I've had 2 home waterbirths so if you have any questions on that i can try & help you out. I do have some VBAC resources saved somewhere I can look for.
