My dreads are starting to smell any suggestions?

Dread Maintenance

I have 1 1/2 year old neglect dreads, always keep them clean, no products at all. never really had too much of a problem with smells besides the occasional smoke or something, but now I am doing Bikrim yoga a couple times a week and they're just soaking up all the smell of the other yogis and myself, just like a sweat honestly.Any suggestions on a small DIY spray I can make maybe out of essential oils or something to put in a spray bottle to deordarize?

Re TnR ing dreads

Introduce Yourself

Hey guys, so my hair is starting to lock up real nice, I'm just a couple days away from 2 months ofdoing light twist and rip. the middle of the hair is the only part that is actually locking up, the rest at the base is really loose and the ends have come completely out too. There is also a lot of loose hair, which I know is normal. The back of my head has come completely undone as well, basically what I was planning on doing was re TnR-ing the ends of the dreaded bodies while incorporating some of the nearby loose hairs and then completely redoing the back but tighter. Will this cause any problems? Thanks

Sectioning then going natural

General Questions

Hi there, I've been letting my hair do its own thing for about a week now and it is actually starting to separate and everything, basically what I wanted to do was rubber band off sections that are roughly based off the natural sections that are already there but just even them out, then leave the bands the maybe overnight then let tem go and hope for the best. What do you guys think? My other alternative is to do a real light back comb to encourage some knotting because TnR didn't work on my hair.ThanksA

Is anyone in the northern va/Maryland area?

General Talk

Nd another thing I'm concerned about us all the little pieces poking out when I do it, they kind of spike out in all directions, is that normal? I just ask. Cause I have seen other peoples loose hair and it doesn't seem to look the same, maybe it's just my hair type

Thanks, I'll try it out. Im trying to start now while my hair is a bit shorter that way they come out nicer in the end. I don't really want to do too much, just use the natural sections that are appearing, give them a little help kniotting up then l will let them do their thing. I'm just kind of concerned cause its short and I have to shove them under a hat all day for work, I hope it doesn't mess things up. My hair is pretty naturally separating and making groups though so that's nice.

Soaring eagle I get what your saying, I have been letting my hair section itself through the natural/neglect method for the last week and have done the baking soda wash and everything but yesterday I tried to start the TnR method and it too my girlfriend like 3 hours just to do one, and it's not even completely done, my hair is only like 7 inches, and tips or pointers?

I was wondering if anyone is in the area that would be able to help me TnR my hair to start my process.
It would be greatly appreciated.
