Thanks so much! You guys are great! We wash with Dr. Bronners and he washes about every 2-3 days. Next step is to get the wax out! I am happy to hear about the tips.

My name is Crystal. I have a 10 year old son who really wanted dreads, so I let him have them. He has had them now for a little over three months. So far he loves them, but I really know nothing about them. I am very glad I found this site. So far I've learned that I shouldn't be waxing them which I have been doing.

Some problems that I am having are keeping the ends locked and keeping the dreads from growing together especially in the back. Again I am very naive when it comes to taking care of them and would love all the information and tips that I can get. I am surprised by the amount of websites available and all of the contradicting information. Once I found this site I was like "aha" and can't wait to read through more of the discussions.
