sorry, I lied. It has been discovered that BPA is, in fact, absorbed through the skin. I was thinking of an older study.
Yes, definitely use BPA free bottles, then

it's always better to use BPA free, but it doesn't really get absorbed through the skin like that. It's more of a worry to digest. But I wouldn't trust that the salt wont start to corrode the plastic. I have a few glass bottles that are much better
I haven't done the BS wash, but I do a sea salt spray once in a while. By that I mean I do it the night before I wash. Don't let it stay in for too long. My letting it stay in for 6-7 hours might even be long.
I'd use a little less than a tsp for each cup of water in a wash. Much more water if you're going to use it as a spray and leave it in longer
But make sure you wash it out really really well. It tends to leave a slightly salty smell to your hair sometimes. So you want to rinse all of it out before you wash them with either the BS or shampoo
sea salt will definitely help speed up the process. To make you feel better, mine took almost a year to finally start looking like locks. Sometimes it just takes a while.
The size of them depends on how big you want them I love huge fat ones. But that's me. some people like super skinny ones. If you want to, you can separate them, but it's all up to your desired size
Mine took about a year. Most people on this site seem to take a few weeks to start looking like they are on their way, and within 2-3 months they are looking pretty good. I was just saying a year, because some people, like myself, have taken that long. It's not the norm
If you keep trying to TnR them, they will just keep coming out making you feel like they're not going anywhere but backwards. If you let them be after the first tnr, they will untangle a bit, but then ONLY move forward. constantly maintaining them is like taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back. You'll get their eventually, but it will take twice as long. letting them happen on their own will always be taking 1 step forward. Sometimes the steps will be smaller than the others, but it's always progressing.
Eagle's right, change your perception. Mine looked like a tangled mess for a year because I kept worrying about when they'd look like locks. I didn't mess with them too much cause I knew it'd have to happen sooner or later, but the worrying definitely didn't help.
Keep up the patience. That's what it's all about. There's so much more you could be doing with those hours of your day than trying to control your hair
beanies are too tight. You want something loose that you can fit all your hair in with room to spare. That way they are out of your way, but also move around and still get tangled and can knot up.
DO NOT USE RUBBER BANDS. even if you put them on loose they cause crimps int he lock where a weak spot will develop. They also pull out hair that will help create stronger roots.
they looked like cuffs. I wasn't sure though. they act like beads, but they shouldn't be too tight
they look good, but what do you have wrapped around them? And yeah, don't twist too often. The do get weak and break off. That's really depressing
