The back of my head is a nest

Help! Save My Dreads

Yeah I can't really tell how bad it is either since it's behind my line of vision haha. It's not like one big mat. There are individual dreads. It's pretty much just at the bottom. It doesn't feel like it's too much of a problem but when I take a picture of the back, it looks really bad. I'll have to see if I can get help from someone else to know the extent of it.

Im just not sure exactly what. It depends on how bad it really is. With pictures it can be hard to tell.

Help! Save My Dreads

So this is the back of my head. I had my friend backcomb my dreads in the back since I couldn't reach it myself. However, he did them pretty sloppily and they combined really easily. It also doesn't help that I never bothered separating for the first couple months. Basically everything is knotted together back there. Is there anything I can do about this? Should I do anything?

Losing a bit of hope on my dreads

Dreading Methods

It's only been a month! Just keep at it. All hair dreads. Because your hair's thin, it will probably take a bit longer but it'll knot in time. Just gotta be patient.

Been dreading for 6 months. They won't stay dreaded!

Dread Maintenance

"but if they fall apart every 2 weeks and u rtnr every 2 weeks u make zero progress for 6 months

but if u let them fall apaert then let them dread themselves u move forward..at the pace your hair wants to take"

Exactly. Just leave your hair alone. My hair's knotted up so much quicker after I stopped trying to make my dreads all perfect and everything. Let nature take its course!

synthetic dreads

General Talk

You can add synthetic dreads but I think they're silly. It goes against the whole reason to have dreadlocks. If you choose to put in fake dreads, I believe you need a bit of free flowing hair to braid them into. It's not necessary though. Your dreads should thicken up over time. If you go completely natural, you won't even have a problem with seeing scalp at all.
