Well started my dreads couldn't wait any longerIt's awesome finally having them but after first wash they are really frizzyKinda looks like a poodle on a bad hair day hope they tidy up them selfsOr do I have to do something with them to help my week and a half baby dreads ?

no he doesnt how long is is mine are past my rtoes and i have hats that fit

but nmever ever crochet dreads

why would he want them dreaded to the tips anywaty that makes them dry way slower the loose tips let water drain out faster

i hope he never xcrocghetted them and i hope u tell him how bad criochet is

Thanks heaps yer I saw the starter kits and wasnt prepared to pay the 80 bucks for them
Seems abit steep but thanks heaps for ur advise
I have a mate who is a chef as well and he's sporting some pretty wicked dreads so this question is for him I've passed on your website to him
He wants to know is it possible to trim dreads alittle shorter and still have them loc up nice at the end ?
Would it just be a normal crochet maintenance to tidy the ends up ?
I tried to convince him to just get a bigger hat but he already wears the largest one available

Cheers drew

exactly you spent 70 dollars to accomplish what u could accomplish by losing a comb and not spending 70 cenbts to replace it

I used wax once when I first tried to get dreads. I have now learnt better and wouldn't use it again. This site is very inspirational and has a lot of good information!

I started with the DreadHead HQ starter pack for dreads. It was overpriced, pointless and damaging. The wax ruins dreads, Soaring Eagle is right!

Thinking about starting over with the natural method

Dreading Methods

Hi guys I as well have a few crochet dreads but decided not to go through with all my hairAfter reading some of the comments on here I'm actually going to try and take mind out and go the natural way for sureBring on te journey I reckon

soaring eagle said:

yes well theres no full recovery from crochet as the damage once done is done but if u just leave em alone and resist all urges to crochet again they will recover

unfortunately this is slow they have to loosen alot to begin to dread right and that takes time also they will get extra fuzzy in the process
