really expected worse

your fine dont retwist

dont do anything that tightens the roots

ive read a ton of your responses on here and you’re always super heavy on the don’t retwist thing haha, i understand why though

you’re like a guru so ill take anything you say as law, i should just let them be then i imagine?

and what do you think about the bleach job, it’s not odd to you? do you know how i would go about returning it back to black?

photos for reference, the light ends of my dreads and the black roots contrast so hideously i find it.

Dreads thinning at root, also look messy/uneven bleach job?

Help! Save My Dreads

hello, ive been lurking this site for awhile now and ive learned a lot through the threads here and i wish i had discovered this site when i first started my hair

i twisted my hair on my own about two years ago and they’ve turned into dreads pretty much from there, however i think i fell victim to twisting them over and over again too much and that’s why they’ve started thinning at the root, i’m not exactly sure as to what to do about this? do i wrap two weak dreads around one another? do i take new growth and wrap it around the root to support it? im hesitant on doing either of those because the times ive done it the roots would be super tight to the point where it’s tough to get a finger under it despite the root being supported.

also, my hair kinda looks a mess with all the new growth and tufts of hair here and there to the point where my parents want me to go to a salon for a retwist, which i fear because i see how tight they make the dreads there at the root and i don’t really want that, so what do i exactly do? advice please!
