Day 3 of dread journey!

Introduce Yourself

Lol you're welcome and I know the feeling XD I can't even put them in a ponytail now (except my rat tails ROFL) and when I first did them, I tied them up a lot. The T&R is really just for sectioning. They'll do all kinds of stuff from here on out. Loops hit first, then they go wild from there. Honestly, it won't matter -literally at all- that you didn't t&r straight down. They'll have a mind of their own here in no time ;)

P.s. the long ones you see in the back, those are my "rat tails" lmao. You can't really tell in pics, but under those on my neck hairline are all balled ones. It's a row of balled ones, then a row of basically normal hair, then shorties/middies all over the top

Also, get some beads and/or cuffs for your problem children. That helped mine lock faster. Make sure to move the beads often though or they'll become permanent (lol)

Day 3 of dread journey!

Introduce Yourself

If you're considering redoing them already, go for it. I had another set for a few days and wanted better sections, so I redid mine and I'm sooooo glad I did. I took my time sectioning them the 2nd time and they're a lot better. The back of my head is a total mess right now....I'm maybe about 2 1/2 months in. I have a bunch locking wonderfully fast....I have balled ones that decided to lock into a ball....I have about 3-4 that fell back out and are dreading on their own time....I have all different types and sizes everywhere. What I've learned is that they're gonna do what they want, no matter what. If they fall out, and you retwist them, they'll fall out again....and again....and again....those ones require patience to do their thing, just leave them alone when they fall out. Now....as for your sections....the general rule of thumb is 1 inch sections. I did my own too. They were all close to an inch when I redid them.....some are bigger and some are smaller now, where some dreads stole hairs from others. I've had to rip some apart already because they started getting too big. If you're overly concerned with your sections right now, I'd probably redo them personally. They'll only grow bigger over time. If you have some that are too big at only 2 weeks in, they'll be even bigger down the road. Even at 2 months, I can't believe how short and fat mine have gotten.....they were superrrrr thin on day 1.
