Dreading too fast?

Introduce Yourself

Slightly confused. Why are you wanting to slow down the process? You want to prolong the intermediate stage?
Can you clarify, what is your goal for your hair right now?

I dont see why you would want to slow it down, whats the benefit of that?

VINEGAR: What it does to your hair

Dread Products

I was listening to a conversation with two women (mother and daughter) where the mother suggested to the daughter to wash her hair using vinegar in order to get hair spray out. She also said to use baking soda too. Not sure if she meant use them at the same time to get the chemical reaction of fuzzing or what. But the daughter was like oh yeah thats a good idea....

But anyway I spoke up and said, ummm I don't think you should use vinegar on your hair - doesn't that damage it? Pretty sure the vinegar would start to dissolve your hair because it is acid.

They were both ..like ooooh noooo....it is so good for your hair it really strips out the products and cleans them without doing damage and is actually healthy!

I didn't argue with them, just dropped it, but when I got home I tried to look it up a bit and all I can seem to find on youtube a re a bunch of videos touting how great vinegar is for your hair and makes your hair grow back and stuff. But this just doesn't seem right. Of course no scientific evidence just a bunch of click-bait videos of wannabe hair specialists.

I was thinking of doing my own experiment and put some hair in a jar with some vinegar and see how long it takes to dissolve.

Does anyone have any scientific evidence that supports my position? I think for every second vinegar is on your hair it is weakening it. I just can't seem to find scientific proof or evidence. Ideally proof with microscope....or peer reviewed study.

What do you think? What experiences have you all had?

If you can handle it, and you want to get that extra motivation. Just watch tons of slaughterhouse videos each night before bed until it gives you nightmares.

That's what I did recently to make the full jump to 100% vegan.

Also watch videos of vegan animal sanctuaries, and you will see the difference.

This video is based on UK, but this kind of thing happens all over the world.

Spices are a personal preference and takes time to experiment with to know what to do.

Depends also the dish and the type of taste you are going for.

Do you want savory or spicy or sweet and salty?

In my experience heres some things that come to mind:

-Garlic and Malabar pepper with sea salt is good on vegetables that have been baked in the oven.

Cumin and Paprika is good if you want to give a curry type of flavor to sauteed veggies on the stove top.

For a traditional curry blend you'll want cumin, coriander, chili pepper, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, garlic, paprika, turmeric, (and maybe some red pepper or cyanne pepper if you want spicey)

Rosemary is good on potatoes.

Basil and thyme are good with tomato type sauces.

Soy sauce with maple syrup will give a teriyaki flavor. Then you can spice it up with syracha sauce or whatever. Maybe add a little ginger and garlic too.

Caraway seeds are good in soups like for example a vegan borsche recipe.

Hope that gives you some idea...what i do is smell/taste a small sample as im cooking and then open up various spices and smell it and think if the combination of smells would go well together because basically 80% of your taste comes from smell. Add a little at a time, and keep resmelling and taste it to see where the right balance of spice needs to be.

If you like to bake, you can use chia seeds as a substitute for eggs.

Mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and 3 tablespoons of water and let the seeds soak the water up and it will turn into the consistency of an egg.

In even the best situation, The cows are still forceably impregnated, the calves dont get their mothers milk and eventually the mothers are over-milked and are slaughtered once they are not productive enough.

Also, you can bake oiled asparagus @ 350 for 30 minutes or so and sprinkle a little salt and pepper and garlic in it. It is amazing!

To cook with use coconut oil or avocado oils because they are the most "stable" when heated.
