6 months progress. wet hair after shower. not sure what to make of this, but seems fine to me for now. All i do is shampoo em once a week, water wash every couple days, and run my fingers through it from time to time to separate big congos, while it s at an early stage.

1st week of March 2017 : my hair is around 3 inches long (8cm) when extended from the root. has been growing from scratch since july 2016. dread journey started on late december. so this is my third month in the journey. kinky hair type, very fragile and dry. shampoo every sunday, shampoo base + drops of tea tree + drops of rosemary. water washing when showering on other days. no towels used for drying

pics : 3 months progress, random angles, taken from very close. So how's it looking? im not sure since my hair is still very short for now on top of curling. seems more like having a bunch of springs rather than dreading :(

organic shampoo base

Dread Maintenance

yo i got neutral shampoo base. it's like a shampoo but without the usual fragrance nor conditioning agents, or whatever else usually found in there. it's odourless, transparent and not viscous. non residual and organic (has an expiration date lol) . supposed to be mixed with whatever essential oils of your choice. i'm going for that so if anyone here has already done it feel free to share your experience :) the only thing to be wary of is to put just a few drops of oils, otherwise your hair gets too greasy and slower to lock. although i don't know the proportions yet :/ kinda reminds me of how bs+acv damages hair and scalp. bs is very basic while acv is acidic, so are the natural human oils of the scalp. it s like pouring on a surface hot then right after that cold water.also 1 table spoone of bs in a huge quantity of water still makes for a very basic mixture. you ll find more details in the links below if you're interested (posted em before on another thread)

starting journey. 4th week already. hair too short to dread?

Introduce Yourself

Yo so i had an afro before, and it looked like my hair was long enough to dread easily. But now, 4 weeks in, i don't know if it actually dreads. looks way too short since it twists so much. i'd like to post some pics, and hopefully read some of u guys' thoughts about how it is going. imo i don't think i got to the baby dreads stage yet. btw my last haircut was in july 2016.
so how's it dreading??
replies much appreciated :)
