5 month update
The crown of my head is doing really well. I am still seeing little to no progress with my back/bottom/underneath sections of hair. I am becoming more excited with how the top dreads are coming along, though. I will post a few pics. Please excuse my tired eyes. I am a mom.

Everything else on my head is dreading nicely, but this bottom/back section is refusing to do anything. It is 3-4 inches longer than the rest because all of my other hair is shrinking. I was considering putting small beads in sections of my undreaded hair to maybe help the process along. What is your opinion on that, Soaring Eagle?

I will post a pic update soon. My dreads have tightened like crazy. Some of them are only 3 inches long now. Yikes! My friend told me yesterday that my hair looked like it wanted to "eat her face." So, needless to say- my hair is looking a bit wild. My biggest supporter is my husband and children... so that's all that matters.

Thank you for being so patient with me and all of my questions. I am wondering if this is normal? A few pieces have looped back on themselves and around 6 inches shorter.

My hair is doing the same as yours... It will tangle a little on its own but I also can't help twisting the pieces a little. And in the back it feels like big clumps with no rhyme or reason that maybe I should pull apart. The top and front just won't do anything other than sit there. No clumps. Kind of frustrating and I can't believe my family isn't making more comments about my strange clumpy unkempt hair.
I'm glad that I am not alone in this. Time is our biggest helper.
