facepalm......

General Talk

I had never even thought about dreads up until last spring, so I knew nothing about it. When I began researching them, all these websites told me natural meant no wax, and that backcombing and crocheting was the BEST way to go. Fortunately I was too lazy to go to the store and get a crochet needle, but my first set was backcombed. I eventually brushed those out, and thankfully found this site.

Introduce Yourself

SE...you have helped me to see the TRUE beauty in dreadlocks and the whole journey aspect of it all. You took away the stress of trying to maintain something that should be wild and free!

Dreads and Living Out of a Backpack for 11 Months

Dread Maintenance

Also if you get a bottle of Dr. Bronners...that should last a while. If you can't fit one big bottle...get a few of the sample sizes. You dilute it so it should last a while. I would however recommend only using that when you have access to a shower because it takes quite a bit of rinsing.

Hey everyone! Just came on here for the first time in a while! Just wanted to update ya'll! As FoxPaw said, I am living with my grandpa and his wife. They kick ass! I am in fact locking up naturally, and I'm 3 months in! I'm a cook in a really chill cafe. Most people don't even notice my hair, and if they do, it's to comment that I have a lot of it! :-P I'm so lucky to have moved to an awesome little town on the side of a mountain, full of loving, accepting people who take me as I am and treat me as if I am part of the pack. :-) I'm planning to go back to school eventually, possibly for Environmental Science. I have been super busy, but I promise that I WILL get on here soon! My dreadies are really knotting up quickly! I've already got some that have shrunk and a few have blunted on their own, but most of them remain wispy at the ends! I miss all you lovely dreadheads! <3

Much love to all of you! <3 xoxo
