Question about roots

Dread Maintenance

Thank you for the feedback SE as always!

Just thought of might hurting them but yeah will try to scrape slowly softly to maintain them moderately.

I also have the bar one and tried it but only once after I got my DLS package. I still wanted to stick with Liq as some part of my hair are dreading slowly specially above my nape and on front and top of my head. But my 2 bottles DLS Liq is kinda taking forever on my shower. LOL. Will try the bar sometime maybe on my 1 year mark?

Thank you again.

Peace x

Question about roots

Dread Maintenance

Shalom!

Just want to ask few questions about roots. I'm on my 7th month journey, washing 2-3 times a week with DSL Liq. I'm noticing something about my roots. Some becoming tight, some loose, some are just fine. and wanted to know your thoughts.

1. How to make sure roots are being cleaned up in your every wash? - I just noticed that when I feel the roots, there's something like build up or residue maybe? So sometimes I give them a 'scrub-a-lot' by inserting my finger underneath and hard to reach area on them and scrub softly. Will this be okay?

2. Roots congoing or matting? - I have like 3-4 dreadies that's connected on its roots. I do separate but this one I missed sometime and got them congoing or matting when I wake one day, they're there. I'm still trying to separate it but not yet fully separated. Is roots congoing/matting be okay as long as the dread bodies are separated? Or any tips to separate them and to maintain them keep separated?

Any input/s would be appreciated. Thank you.

Peace x

Sun Dry(ing) - How much is too much?

Dread Maintenance

Thanks for the quick feedback SE.

But do you have an idea like how many minutes is enough with sun drying? 10, 15, 20minutes? Or maybe soon as you feel your hair is dry? or you feeling the sun burn? :D

Important is if you got questions, feel free to post it, surely you'll get a reply from this great community especially from @soaring-eagle (SE).

Happy dreading.

Sun Dry(ing) - How much is too much?

Dread Maintenance

Hi great lovely natural dreadhead community! :)

I've recently included this, the Sun drying on my washing routine. I'm from a tropical country which is blessed with the Sun shine daily(unless if its rainy season or there's tropical storm) but after I try using the sun to make drying more easily and quickly on my nearly 8-month dreadies. It feels great and also getting the benefits of getting rid of molds(that makes dreadies stink).

Though, I want to know how much is too much when staying under the sun. I mean Will there be a good or bad effect on your dreadies if you stay longer under the sun during drying after wash?

Would love to hear your experiences, Appreciate any inputs.

Peace x

Smelly dreadhead - Cause and Prevention

Dread Maintenance

Alright, will try this one but will it be an every wash routine? or is it like once or twice a month to do, as I 'm washing every 2-3 days a week.

Thank you.

Peace out

Smelly dreadhead - Cause and Prevention

Dread Maintenance

Thanks for the feedback @soaring-eagle

Some can be said thick if I'm gonna compare it to the others but not that thick maybe less that a quarter inch in diameter?. But they are only few and others are just thin in sizes and very young @ 6th month.

Is there any alternative for now that I could try and use to see if I'm facing dread rot? (I just ordered months ago from DLS with Liquid&Bar Shampoo). I would definitely order from DLS site but the shipping to my country(Philippines) is kinda high so...

Please let me know.

Peace out
