One of my dreads is coming loose in the middle.

Dread Maintenance

I'm having the same problem. I was too embarrassedto post a new thread. So here's what I did. I had my hair done using the twist method. And upon stumbling on this site I've vowed not to go back to the salon to get it re twisted. Well some are unraveling completely.my hair is frizzy'ish. What I supposed to do :(Ps anyone else have the problem of waking up and your hair on the sides are flat ? I wake up 20min earlier now to mess with hair to get it all evened out.

The awesome power of baking soda

Dread Products

Nightshade no words can describe how my head feels. Itching is gone.... feels like a giant weight was lifted off my shoulders. Hair is kinda frizzy now but oh wells I assume it's suppose to do that. It also felt good sleeping with out a cap on. Took ages to dry though lol.

The awesome power of baking soda

Dread Products

Im going to start making the mix ASAP. Just got home from getting ACV lol. As stated earlier Ive been scared that my hair would friz up and unravel. However my scalp has been super furious at me lately and Im just sick of the flakes lol. Hoping this works, and hoping my hair still looks presentable, because I assume any gel that was baked in my hair will be removed after this wash. PS Thanks for the advice and guidance man. It's much appreciated.

I'm going to have to try this. Do I need to use the ACV immediately after? I have baking soda and have not washed my Jair in almost a month in fear of my twists unraveling. I can't take this anymore lol Im washing it!!

By method do you mean the mixing it in a bowl and soaking everything in it, or the baking soda and vinegar wash in general? Because BS/ACV is the best method to wash all dreads!

I itch at the 4 day mark of not washing my hair. So Im on a set schedule atm. Washing Thursdays and Sundays. I'll have to find tea tree after seeing what that does lol.

Ive done the BS/ACV rinse like 3 times now. Is it bad that I have not got off my butt to go and get the essential oils to add in with em? Is it necessary? Just curious.

I hadn't washed because initially I had payed 60$ to have my hair twisted. So I was quite paranoid. Was told to go back in a month but really wasn't told if I was able to wash my hair or not. However was told to use an astringent when my scalp itched. I said the heck with that once I obtained information about the Bs AVC wash. My scalp felt like it was on fire and was extremely flaky so I washed it. :) No words really to describe how my scalp feels right now. Hair is holding up well too. Has not started unraveling.

Just did my first BS ACV wash. Holy ****. Dont know if its the wash or the fact that I haven't washed my hair in a month but it felt AMAZING!!! I have to do this more often.

PS Can I sleep without a cap?
