Help!!!!

Dread Maintenance

The good news is, once they've shrunk as much as they can, they'll start growing like crazy! My hair was past my hips when I dreaded it, now it's shoulder length. I kinds wish I had known it would happen, it's pretty scary when you don't know to expect it! Nothing to worry about though:]

SLS and Sodium coco Sulfate?

General Questions

Well there goes that shampoo bar... I can't believe the two aren't even really distinguishable from each other. Thanks so much for the reply!

SLS and Sodium coco Sulfate?

General Questions

I've been using a lush shampoo bar on my locks again since they replaced SLS in their bars with Sodium coco sulfate. I was told that it was better for you and I really love the way it makes my locks feel. Does anybody know the actual difference between the two, or is SCS just as bad as SLS?

Dread Maintenance

I think SE might be right about the heard water. When I'm living in my college dorms (very hard water) the roots of mine act like how your saying yours do.When I go home they seem to tighten up, and we have an awesome water filter!

I have to "disguise" mine for work, I just buy normal scarves and cut them into three strips and braid them into a wide headband. Or i ever wear cabled headbands that i knit myself, like this .

But basically, a headband does the trick for me and i backcombed too.

Is Dr. Bronner's good for dreads?

Dread Maintenance

I used it for awhile, the peppermint is awesome. Plus it helped with a sore scalp. I did however, feel like it left a film on my dreads sometimes but that may have just been me not washing it out well enough. I also found that it helped my boyfriend with his dandruff!

sick of my dreads

General Talk

I went through the exact same thing a while ago. i even felt like i couldn't wear nice clothes because it looked "wrong'. I promised myself that i would give them a year, and if i still didn't like them, I would comb them out. just give it some time, after a month or so I loved them again, and now i wouldn't trade them for anything:]
