Question about washing in early stages

Dread Maintenance

Even though I'd like to think I know..I'd rather sit back and wait for someone with more experience to answer..I'll be watchin' this post :P I also do the same as you. I wash every 3 days or so, but I wet it in the shower quite often..sometimes even multiple times a day, so i am definitely curious to hear from some veterans here!

@Joshua Miles: Thanks man! I still get those on the daily. They typically come undone during my showers, but when my hair is dry, the sections just spiral together into big barrel curls. It's mostly a large section behind my ear near the bottom of my neck, on both sides. They might end up being 2 big congos, but we'll see :).
@Mikie Michelle: Thank you! Much appreciated :)

@Lauryn Dowding - Thanks very much! I appreciate the appreciation. I probably will skip the 17th month update, just because I have such slow progress. I will do the year and a half mark, or 18 months, because I want one for that checkpoint in the journey.

I am back, as a couple of you may know, under a new alias. I would frequent this site regularly, more toward the beginning of my journey, and time seems to fly. I am a natty-free-former, with some slight separation as maintenance, other than washing of course. I feel like I have a decent amount of pictures left from my journey to make a timeline for others to kind of gauge how natural locks progress and the timeline that is required. I am missing some pictures between 11 months and now, so there's kind of a four or five month gap. If anyone has any questions, comments, or thoughts they like to share, feel free. Sorry about the bad camera / lighting quality. I only have my cell phone camera and live in the pacific northwest..hard to get some good sunlight sometimes. Stay knotty, my friends <3

Introduce Yourself

yes patience is key, and one of the reasons I went natural instead of having fake dread put on my head. I needed these lessons in my life. I've had quite a slow journey compared to other people, but I suppose it was necessary for me to learn the things I need to, at the time I need to. I bought myself a little 15 months present and got some more dreadshampoo, and also going to try the sea salt spray. I still value the journey and the process, and want to go through it..but I would also like to help my hair get there, since I also like the appearance. I am doing my best to enjoy the ride, and I definitely am. Some days are harder than others, just because you want progress and it's not always visible or easy to find, but that's part of learning the lessons of locks. Releasing yourself from your ego and certain desires etc. Thank you, I really appreciate it. Other people have told me the same, since it's taking much longer, my locs will look superb, and I also believe they will :) <3 My 15 month mark is tomorrow, I should get that album uploaded.
