UH man!! Not another 'HELP ME!!' thread :P

Dreading Methods

Ha-ha soaringeagle I knew you were going to ask that. Pull up a seat and grab some popcorn.

I have always known I was meant to be a dread head ever since I was a little tack. So I had started to grow my hair from around the age of ten. As you do I was going to the local hairdresser to get a trim, and I had told her my intentions. We actually had a dreadlock salon in the same town as us, except they were quite expensive. So after talking to my hairdresser about dreads, she recommended going to the local hair dressing school, as they were always looking for people to practice on and they were extremely cheap. So I was a 13 year old listening to a lady that I thought new everything about hair (my hairdresser)

Sadly as a kid I never had the internet. So little did I know that what the dreadlock salon was charging huge dollars to do, could be done naturally. I also didnt know that there were multiply ways one could achieve dreadlocks, some even worse then backcombing/wax. So of I went as a 13 year old to the local hairdressing school. Were they charged me 50 dollars AND PUT A FUCKING PERM SOLUTION IN MY FUCKING HAIR.

I did what they said once or twice and put wax in my hair. But I hated the feeling so I stopped that straight away.

Going the natural/neglect route has been on my mind for quite away now. I just cant cut my hair. They are a part of me now and love them sooo much. I just dont think I could ever cut them

Dreading Methods

Hello my fellow dirty stinky wash ya dam hair ya dirty hippy brothers/sisters....

I need a little advice on my loose hairs... Yes another loose hair thread. Noooooo :P

Although my story is a little different to your average My dreads are 6months old and I have 2inchs of loose hair, help!!!

My dreads are actually 4/5ish years old now. And I still have LOADS of loose hair. When my hair is tied back I actually look like I have nondreaded hair until my dreaded pony tail starts. Yes my dreads are dreading fine, its just that I have so much regrowth (I think thats the word) hair that refuse to dread. In most places I have about 25cm of loose hair. And the fact that I have epically THICK hair makes it even worse.

Now Im thinking that this hair might be refusing to dread for a couple of reason.

A: I dont wash my hair regularly enough.

And

B: I use WAY too much apple cider vinegar.

Other then that I cant think of any other reasons for this mysterious phenomenon. Maybe my hair hates me, I dont know :(

Let us know what your thinking
