Dread types

Dread Maintenance

this sounds like a kinda stupid question, but depending on the hair type, will it every dread into small dreads? I am doing neglect method, and my hair is not quite long yet, but I have wavy hair, and I would prefer more thicker dreads (not super thick) but I would not want to have a lot of really thin dreads. This is my hair as of right now.
With how my hair is when it starts maturing will they be really thin? Or will it thicken up and be decently thick locs. Thanks to all who can help!

Dread Maintenance

Alright, thank you for the replies everyone. I've been wearing the hoodie as I sleep but it works some nights in making more sections but then they are really flat so I've switched to just using it as a pillow case. The only reason I was using it as the hoodie was because when its on the pillow it wont reach the top of my head haha, so I thought the hoodie would touch all the areas needed. But occasionally it will fall off.

As for the pink sea salt, I will order it when my hair is a bit longer as I'd rather use it when my hair is able to tangle a bit more.

I do used hot water, but I will start makign it more just like very warm water, then the luke warm and then cold rise. I live in an area where it is VERY hard water, I get my water literally from a well, so I have no other choice for washing my hair, but the shampoo has been working wonderfully with the hard water so no worries there.

once again thank you all for the replies and advice!

It is the liquid shampoo and it is doing great. I figured the hair was still just short of anything, just wasn't sure if I was making t he process longer than it would be.

Pk I am more than likely goign to get the spray when my hair is an inch or an inch and a half longer.

I have been doing the fingertips basically, just putting the shampoo on my tips and like scratching with my nails kind of, and some areas get pretty soapy. I then rinse with hot water and then a cold water rinse after. Am I doing that right? or should i just rinse the soap with the cold water right after scrubbing in?

Dread Maintenance

My late post was messed up somehow, I believe my internet was just way too slow and uploaded like a sentence for some reason haha.

But basically I've been in the dreading process since Oct. I have been cleaning every 4 days using Vicki's Dread Shampoo, and I was wondering if there was any technique as to scrubbing, because ever since my hair got to about 4 inch (as of right now), my hair would group in certain places and whatnot, but when I shower I feel as if I lose the progress in grouping and locing up. I know my hair is not ideal length to start locing up considering I have wavy hair that curls at the end. Also I sleep with a wool hoodie (one of the mexican poncho ones) and will that help if I wear it while I sleep or hurt the process?

Also if anyone has experience with the Himalayan pink sea salt spray, as I am interested in hearing about how it's helped and whatnot.

Random question

General Questions

I was not sure where to post this, but I am dreading for a spiritual purpose, and so this is where the randomness comes in, but does anyone know a good site to purchase vibrational 100% crystals? My dad has elestial quartz and I am very interested in getting more. I am more looking for just the crystal, not so much it in jewelry form, as I like either just having it alone, or I can tie a string around making my own necklace, etc. I know this is random, but I thought there might be some people interested in the same type of things. Thank you!

also is there any way to make the water less harder? If that's even possible. Considering the options of getting water where I live basically all the same.

Oh dang, I actually get water from a well so it is decently rich in minerals, so if the water is rich in minerals it makes it hard for the hair to loc up?

Hair Maintenance

Dread Maintenance

So I am about I'd say just over a month of neglect. My hair is still fairly short, barely about 3 inches, but I have been taking Biotin every day and so I am not worried to as how long my hair will grow to the recommended 5/6 inches to start locing up. I have a few questions, as what is considered "hard water"? Is it the content in it, like if they put chlorine in the water. Also I exercise basically everyday and I sweat when doing my cardio particularly, and I'm wondering if that will harm the process of neglect rather than help it. Considering my hair gets sweaty and I wash only about once a week, is that bad? The smell isn't bad so no worry about the washing once a week, but in terms of the actual sweat hurting the process should I wash more frequently like every 4 days? I have recently bought a bottle of shampoo from dreadlocksshampoo and I have yet to use it as I am still about 4 days till my personal scheduled hair wash, but a question regarding the shampoo, should I still rinse with ACV after? I switched to the shampoo because I believe my scalp is a bit too dry with the BS and I want to get rid of this small dandruff issue. No itchiness surprisingly but I don't like wearing black clothing and any touch to my head creates a small fall of dried skin. So I will probably start doing ACV rinse only once every two weeks, but should i still do it now that I have the shampoo? Also I live in a mountainous region, and so it's pretty windy and at times at night it can get cold. I've read that sometimes humidity can affect the process? Or something in that way. It doesn't rain much considering it is kind of like a desert, but in winter it can get rainy time to time randomly. Thanks for the help!

Baking Soda

Introduce Yourself

Online I saw an article that was saying that baking soda can be damaging to the hair due to its high acidity. Will this be detrimental to my hair in the longterm use? Also On top of my head I noticed, not quite a bald spot, but it seems like a kind of spiral between about three points of hair groups so it is showing my scalp, is this normal when the hair is starting to section and it will show areas of the scalp kind of like balding but not actually balding, just showing more scalp then usual?
