Yea, the bottom two inches of most of the dreads came out and went back to pretty much straight hair. It did feel funny, but it was definitely not dreaded. I went ahead and used my dreading method to redo the tips again. I know I said I wouldn't, but I started doing it without paying attention sitting in a parking lot waiting for a friend. Once I started, I couldn't stop until they were all nice again. I will post some pictures very soon so you can see the difference. It is seriously like a 180. I know what I'm about to say might sound fucked up, but what I'm going to do is not wash my hair for two to three weeks while spraying it with a sea salt solution. Hopefully this will dry them out and they will have time to settle in a little bit before I wash my scalp again. I probably do need to be more gentle!
You guys are always so supportive! Yea it is a little short haha. SE, can you explain to me how new hair actually dreads? I keep thinking about it and I cannot figure out what it does to keep dreading! Thanks guys!
Check out the pictures I just uploaded to my page of my baby dreads . I know I have a lot of loose hairs, that's not what I'm worried about. I have one to three inches of pretty much straight hair at the ends of my dreads . At first I was re-dreading the ends, but I don't want to do any maintenance and I don't want the tips to "start over" after each wash. I am just worried they aren't going to stay in or something. One on the back is only dreaded about an inch in the middle! Any advice/tips? And I know I need to chill, but I have to be "clean" for the time being.
I know what you're talking about. Mine get smelly really fast out here in the Utah summer. I wash mine every two to three days. Mine aren't long enough that I can pull them down to smell them, but every once in a while I get a scent that wafts by or I will scratch my head and that stinks a little. Some people are just more oily than others - that's all there is too it. Just wash them!
I had my ears up to 3/4", left them out for two years when I was partying really hard after loosing a lot of plugs/tunnels. Those shrank down to a 0. I have hand carved Amazonite in them right now. I have two tattoos. A flower on the back of my neck and the Buddhist knot on my right lateral deltoid. I am going to get my nose pierced in the next couple weeks. I am not sure if it should be the left or right side. I have wanted my lip and eyebrow pierced for a while now, but decided against the lip because I get fidgety and I would fuck my teeth up. Plus I am planning on taking Krav Maga soon and don't want the piercing to knock out a tooth. The next tattoos I have planned are 1) The flower of life. Either on the left side of my chest or on my left arm same as the other. And 2) All the states I have lived in around my bicep, tricep and then onto the front area there on the arm. Virginia, with a star in Richmond the biggest; Utah, with a dot in Orem and Salt Lake City and a circle in the lower left corner crossing over the line into Nevada where I spend 63 days of my life camping and hiking; and soon to be Colorado!
