help my flaky scalp :(

General Questions

I'd hate to admit it but I have dandruff problems :/ They're about 6 months... I wash no less than once a week, I try to use cold or luke warm water. Sometimes I use BS & ACV wash, other times I use a vegan shampoo. By the 3rd day after washing my locks, my scalp gets itchy and flaky, super flaky, like snow in the middle of winter haha. Maybe it's because I'm always out in the sun and it dries up my scalp or maybe its because washing my scalp once a week dries it up...My scalp doesn't get oily, even after a week, I only wash it because it gets super itchy and flaky What should I do ? Any advice? Any cheap solutions? What worked for you and what didn't ? Please help !

Strict parents, rude people & dreadlocks ?

I get asked a lot, how my parents reacted for me having dreads. I guess it's because I'm Filipino so it's the stereotypical misconception, that I have strict parents. I'm 16 and I have, not the neatest locks (which I love) - my parents really don't mind it. They actually support me and give me a lot of artistic freedom.
I get more hate from other parents, or adults and they tend to make rude comments on my hair or how I look.. I understand, they were probably raised differently... but how can I respectfully brush them off or show them my point of view ? Have you ever gone through a similar situation - what did you say ? How did your parents react to you getting dreads, did you have to convince them or we're they totally for it ? :D I'd love a good story (:

Introduce Yourself

I have a couple dreadhead friends ..and many of them use crochet/latch hooks and other products on their locks ( I don't ) .I've found myself in this situation so many times - its pretty silly but I don't know how to go about it How do you tell someone in a nice way you don't want your dreads "fixed" by them in the most nicest way possible ?

Dreads & beanies !

General Talk

Just out of curiosity ... Would it affect the my lock's progress, if I wore a beanie almost all the time? Would it be bad or beneficial ? Or would it not make a difference ?
