Hair type?!?!?

Introduce Yourself

Don't you think your hair type would matter as well when it came to knotting up? I've read many posts on the forums and it just seems if you have knotty/ratty hair you can easily create 'dreadlocks' as where people who don't it is a challenge. Not saying any of you don't know what you're talking about, I guess this is more of a question.

Maybe I'm just having trouble believing my hair will naturally lock up, perfectly.

My locks are falling apart!

Help! Save My Dreads

Thanks a lot guys! I started them by the 'Twist and rip'. Yeah they became very loose at the tips, well about half the lock. But i was using Dreadhead waxless shampoo (unfortunately). I ordered some new shampoo off of dreadlockshampoo.com though and will be continuing with that stuff.

My locks are falling apart!

Help! Save My Dreads

I started locking my hair about a week ago and decided to wash it tonight and when I did a couple in the back completely fell apart. I'm not sure if I should have gave them more time. But the ones in the front are fine. I really don't know what to do.
