I know cocoa butter moisturizes dreads, but I don't know a place to buy pure cocoa butter. Any suggestions?

General Questions

Does chlorinated water have a negative effect on dreadlocks? I've had my locks for almost 2 years now, and I heard a long time ago that I shouldn't swim in a pool. It didn't really bother me because i prefer swimming in rivers, lakes, and oceans. Now, however, I have the chance to go to a water park for free lol

hmmm this is very interesting, I do have a friend who has used wax on his dreads only about once a month, he crocheted his dreads, and he has them for three years. When he cut them off they didn't look like this at all, they were actually healthily dreaded together. I don't want to mess up my dreads, but how do you explain this. Also, I only plan on having my dreads for 5ish years, do I still have to worry about wax?

p.s. Hey, soaring eagle. this is completely unrelated, but why do your posts always have so many grammatical errors?

Whats wrong with the hook and wax, they seem to be working pretty well

Hello my nappy friends!

I'm heading out on a 2 month road trip across the states in a week in a half. I'm staying in national parks and camping along the way. I'm sure I'll run into some crazy weather, including rain storms. I want to keep my dreads as dry as possible. Any ideas on how to do this?
