Ok, skipped a month but tbh it didnt feel like anything was happenning untill i compared the photos from 4 months and these new ones I just took! Well here they are at 6 months old!

So there it is, my 6 months mark, I feel they are getting there but I do have a question... When I started them I was hoping to have really really thick dreads, these are thick I know but they are still not at the size I was aiming for when I sectioned. My question is ROUGHLY how long until they reach full maturity (thickness). Waiting is not a problem, Im just curious to know :)

time for my next month update... its been 4 months now!! i think they are getting a lot thicker... still thin for me hehe, but i have to say the tiny ones that are starting to form from seperating and random loose hairs are really growing on me.

in fact they are getting too thick even for my shower cap! i love it... cant wait for some length tho... still cant tie them up unless i use 2 or 3 band and in 2 seperate bunches.... ah well... im becoming more and more patient through having these amazing things on my head!

ok without further chit chat! the proof :)

sorry about the quality of the photos but you do see the change i think :)

and one of the big fat one in the front! :D

so yea thats me for the moment... still loving it and im waiting for length now!

2 months!! I like milestones :)

So I dont think there is a whole lot of difference except maybe a little more thickness. The roots seem to be twisting like crazy and I love it... heres my favourite twisty one!

Maybe you cant see it so clear but it looks like the bottom of a very old tree in the Amazon or something! one thing I get a little worried about at times is the gaps between some of the dreads, is this just because they are really big? anyone have huge dreads know if they will close up as they thicken or is there something I can do to close that gap perhaps?

so far Im really loving this journey, its slow but I love how they thicken, thats my favourite part, the twists are great, the lumps are wonderful but when I notice how thick they get is what really makes me happy :) Next update I'll do in about a month, I reckon there wont be enough change till then anyway!

Love to the Dreadlockssite!!

little update after a couple more weeks now Im at 1 month and 3 weeks or more... I had a lot of loose hair round the ears so I decided to TnR a tiny mini dread next to each ear as I want to see how the tiny ones develop....

and the other ear! they are so tiny!!!!

and then a shot of the back. I do worry at times they are not going to "fill out" as they have some big gaps in between each dread.... is that just coz they are quite large at the base?

I'm know they will thicken up, just time i guess.... looking forward to gaining length but I reckon they wont start getting longer for about 6 months! lol... ah well, Im having fun journaling!

So now is the really fun part for me... the part it started to naturalize, I de-waxed and the dreads REALLY started to fall apart.... going from sticky mess to a fluffy mess but ultra light airy feeling and I really loved how they felt real... even tho they are not dreads yet!

I liked this stage, but I have a long way to go!

And the back view this is at 2 weeks

Ok well that was when I feel like my real hourney started... they twisted and shaped a formed into nice fat lumps and bumps and in really little time I think are forming quite nice... this is what they look like right now at 1 month and 2 weeks in... (sorry I missed a few weeks, i dont really have many clear photos)...

So some of them blutned on thier own and some i helped a little with a needle and thread but some are gonna stay out, think I like the mix so will leave them be :) Im having so much fun with them and I love that they are gonna get thicker.... so yea thats me as far as today! Im relly excited to keep going and I will post up more photos as time goes by!

Guys, please please keep posting your timelines I seriously LOVE looking at them and admiring the growth with you all! Enjoy....

Hey guys! First of all thankyou soooo much for all the info from everyone, this community of dreadies is just wonderful, I've learned so much and I LOVE seeing peoples timelines and seeing how different peoples dreads progress, from backcombed, corcheted and recovered to all natural and the TnR dudes, its all wonderful when they come out all healthy and sexy lookin!

So with that said I thought Id start sharing my journey with you. Im 26 years old and I started dreads a few times... never REALLY having the patience for them until the previous time. However I had to cut them due to wax and the sheer weight of them to dance was really getting too much....

Anyways, I decided to get them again... this time big fat ones, so again foolishly I got suckered into Dreadhead and backcombed them and waxed them only to 2 weeks in find THIS GREAT SITE! so I proceeded to remove the wax with ultra hot water and soaps and they became all poofy looking but I was SO pleased to have that crap puta my hair.... made me all sticky and gross, i really hated it too.... way too much effort!

Well without further ramblings I'll show some photos then you guys can ask any questions you would like :)

Here is me before dreads

And then this one is an old one but you get the idea of what my hair was like :)

Ok, so now for the embarrassing part but I can suck it up hahaha, heres right after backcombing! hehe still makes me laugh!

Essential oils in the UK.

Dread Products

thanks for trying SE but it seems the price s pretty much hte same.... good to know then! maybe you can help me save some oil by answering this question... if im using a half gallon pitcher for the BS wash (my dreads are quite short) I am currently using 15-20 drops lavender, 15 drops rosemary and 10 drops tea tree... i that too much? I have a feeling it is...
