Keeping hair out of your way :)

General Questions

I might try another tam. Unfortunately I am only getting dreads at the back of my head, I don't have any in the front or on the sides yet. I have a few underneath at the back and 3 on top at the back all around each other lol. Folding a bandana into a band might work, too! We'll see. Thanks yall :)

General Questions

Tie them back with my hair you mean? Yeah. But I thought tying your hair back was not a good idea when you were letting it dread?

are your dreads long enough to tie back your dreads with your dreads?

Keeping hair out of your way :)

General Questions

Howdy everyone. My hair is still in the dreading process. I have a few tangles and less than 10 dreads/baby dreads I'd say. But most of it is non-dreaded. I have a habit of pulling my hair back in the summer time and I know I need to leave it alone. What is your favorite or most efficient [even if it's not your fave lol] way of keeping your hair out of your face or off your neck?

Also, what would you do if you were in the process like me and had an interview? I desperately need to switch jobs, am considering applying for a house supervisor position [supported living], but I want them to know I am serious if I get an interview. I know people with dreads are serious, but there are stereotypes to consider, kwim? T.I.A.!! :) <3 ~Sara

Residue

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

It wasn't very much at all, not even the size of my finger nail [and I bite my nails] and it was at the front of my head. It's not possible it's in the dread I'm talking about :P But I do appreciate the reminder. Thanks for the link, that way I know what I am looking for! :)

Residue

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Nope never used wax. Well not there, anyway. I tried it but it was 90% petroleumjelly and it came right out, only used like a pea-sized amount.

I thought it might be residue from the Dr. Bronner's because when I mix Bronner's with water it gets cloudy, so I figured it might leave a bit of a shine. I will try to get a picture to upload here, have to charge my phone first since the battery is low. :)

Residue

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Don't know why but I amjust now seeing these responses lol. I have looked for Neutragena anti-residue... is it shampoo or soap? Can't seem to find it.

What's on my dreadlock looks shiny but it's not coming out with the Suave anti-residue shampoo I've been using, so I'm worried it's something bad. :/

Residue

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

K another question... lol. I have ONE formed dreadlock, and it's got some sort of residue. You can see the hair not right on the outside but a layer or two in is a bit gray/blue and I think it's because I've been using Dr. Bronner's... what can I use to get this out with, and do I have to really scrub the lock? Thanks in advance. :)

Think this will dread....?

Dread Maintenance

This is one of those I TnR-ed to "experiment" on and I feel like it's just a rat's nest and isn't going to do what I want it to. Should I comb it out and let it be, or will something like this dread? I am asking because the knotting is closer to my roots, it's not at the bottom of my hair or near the middle... I stuck a bead in it because I have a meeting at work tomorrow morning lol

(lmao I'm editing this, forgot to upload the photo... :) )
